Family life was instituted by God. God not only created Adam but He provided a life partner and gave them a beautiful place to live. They lived in the garden of Eden - the garden that was planted by God Himself. The place was beautiful where pleasant trees grow good for food. Gen 2:8-9, "The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food." God blessed Adam and Eve as we read in Gen 1:28, "Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."This was the first family in the Bible. Everything started perfectly, perfect life partner custom designed for Adam, perfect living place created by God Himself and the perfect wedding life started with the blessing of God. But what happened to this perfect family? In the 3rd chapter of Genesis we read how tragedy struck them. They disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit about which God warned them saying, "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.(Gen 2:17)" The first family on the earth was in utter chaos. Just one sin and they lost everything. They lost every good thing which God gave them even the most precious thing - the presence of God. They were driven out of the garden of Eden. You can see how much chaos and destruction came in their lives. At times people take much caution to start perfectly but just one mistake or just one sin could bring everything down to the earth. How terrible sin is. Just one sin will destroy your life. It will take away every good blessings from your life. Adam and Eve faced great challenge because of their sin. They tried to cover their shame and guilt by their own effort but could not. God came for their rescue and gave them skin tunics to wear.Once again they tried to start their new lives. But soon it became chaotic again as Cain their elder son killed Abel the younger. Oh, how their hearts would have failed seeing all the mess in their lives. The whole family was in terrible ache and pain.We see another family in the New Testament - the family of Mary, Martha and Lazarus. Two sisters and one brother. Bible tells us that Martha invited Jesus in her home and Mary listened to His preaching sitting at His feet. We read in Luke 10:38-39, "Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word." It seems that this house had become the favorite place for Jesus where He visited often. Where He was welcomed by these three people wholeheartedly. Now a day came when Lazarus became very sick and finally died. The two sisters were in complete chaos. Their only brother is gone and Jesus was not there at that time. Their hearts failed. Jesus came four days later and when He spoke to the sisters, their frustration was visible through their talks. Both said in John 11:21 & 32, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died." Their hearts were heavy and they were weeping. Seeing their great sorrow Jesus also felt sorry and He also wept. Further we read that, He was moved with compassion and raised Lazarus from the dead. We see that two families were in chaos but what a difference it made when the creator of the world stepped in and intervened in the lives of Mary, Martha and Lazarus. Their chaotic condition was fixed by the mighty hands of Jesus. Their tears and mourning turned into joy and praises. Their heartbreaks, aches and pain were taken away. This is what happens when Jesus steps in our lives and in our homes. He turns things completely around. Today, you may be in chaotic situation where there is no hope. But if you invite Jesus in your life and in your home, He will come in and turn the table around. Psalmist says in Psa 30:11-12, "You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever."
Once a young man got saved. His life was completely transformed. He got so zealous for Jesus that he wanted to go and preach the Gospel in a remote place where no one ever could go and work. He joined a missionary organization to pursue his goal. As per his wishes he was sent to a very dangerous place where most of the evangelists were murdered or vanished without a trace. He entered one village and talked to some local people. He also told them that he came in that village to start a Christian school for local children. A few hours later while he was sitting in front of a shop, a very healthy man came to him. The man started talking asking him why he came and what was his purpose etc. The young man told him that he primarily came to start a Christian school in that village. The man listened very carefully then he said to him, "Look, there is not a single Christian in this village. If you come and try to open a Christian school in this village, nobody will allow it. But you will be butchered mercilessly and thrown into the river as it was done to those who came earlier." When this young man heard this statement, he lost all his courage. He was frightened yet stayed in the same village. Two days later he returned to the same place where his very life was threatened. But he could not find that man there. Days passed by and slowly he started preaching the Gospel and built school. He never again saw the man who threatened him nor could he understand, what happened to that man. This is the protection God gives to His children. Until your time comes nobody can touch you. Once Jesus was told by some Pharisees, "Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You. (Luke 13:31)" And He said to them, "Go, tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.(Luke 13:32)'" Jesus made it clear that until His time nobody could touch Him. It happened exactly. Though there were many attempts to catch Him and kill Him yet nobody could touch Him until His time came. Are you a child of God? Your protection is in His hand. He will not allow anybody to touch you. He will protect you and keep you.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
