Psa 37:25, "I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread."These are the words of David who walked in the ways of God from his childhood. He says that through out his life from childhood to old age he has never seen a righteous person forsaken nor his descendants begging for bread. Jesus conveyed similar idea in Mat 6:28-30, "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?" Further He said in Mat 6:33-34, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Once I heard the true story of a young girl who lived in USA (she could still be alive). She loved the Lord and tried to walk in the ways of God. She got married and had kids. When the kids grew up a little, her husband left her. She was heart broken, not knowing what to do, how she could survive this crisis. She started praying to God for sending a godly man in her life so that she could start her life once again. Many months passed by and she felt that it was not a wise prayer which she did. So she started asking God to show her a real solution to come out of financial difficulties and to survive with her kids. Days and months passed by. One day she attended a wedding. In the reception she looked and saw that the wedding cake was beautifully decorated. When the cake was served, it tasted nothing better than a piece of cardboard. And just a thought struck her mind, "I can make tasty cakes than this." The thought grew and grew in her heart that she started thinking about it seriously. She began to bake cakes on special occasions for relatives and neighbors. Her fame grew and soon she started getting big orders. Even with in months she could earn enough money that she could start her own bakery. Not only she and her kids survived but she had more than enough money to live a good life. How true it is when David said, "I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his descendents begging bread." When we put our trust in God, He takes care of our needs. Hagar was in the wilderness and was in distress. Her survival was not possible without a miracle. We read in Gen 21:19, "Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink." The well was already there but she could not see it until God showed her. There are hidden treasures which are more than enough for our survival but at times we are unable to see it. Only God can show where it is and what it is. He alone can give a new idea which could restore your life and make you prosperous.Are you in the same situation as Hagar was or as the divorced woman about whom I wrote above? Ask God to show you, what exactly He wants from your life. He will certainly show you and will make a way for you.
There was a ruler of the synagogue whose twelve year old daughter was very sick. He came to Jesus, fell on His feet and begged Him to go to His house. While Jesus was on the way to his house, someone told the ruler that his daughter had died. But Jesus told him, "Do not be afraid; only believe. (Mark 5:36)" And further we read in Mark 5:37, "He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James."Why Jesus did not allow others to follow Him? The crowd that was walking with Him could not see with eyes of faith that the girl was not dead but sleeping. Things viewed with natural eyes could be completely different when you see it with eyes of faith. In the natural realm everything was over, the girl was dead but in the faith realm she was still alive and there was still hope. Jesus did not allow them to go with Him because they would have discourages others by their unbelief. Sometimes it is necessary to keep distance with those who do not have faith.Last year my dad was very sick. On 3rd Oct. four expert doctors told us that everything was over and there was no hope of his recovery. While they were preparing him to rush to the ICU and to put him in ventilator, we sat in the family room. Hospital chaplain came to comfort us. He started talking about dad and his condition and my mom said that dad will not die but live. The chaplain answered, "Look, we all hope and pray for this but sometimes what we hope and desire may not be true!" The doctors already told us that there was no hope though the first time I felt as if we had lost all hopes, I thought, "why these people are talking like this? Will we really lose our dad?..." Though dad was unconscious yet he was still breathing. I tried to content to myself and tried to focus on the promises of God which He gave us for dad. I started claiming as many promises as I could remember and I could feel the hopelessness leaving me. Great peace surrounded me. Of course later God healed my dad and delivered us with great deliverance. You see sometimes we listen to people who are only able to see the natural and not beyond that. It will bring your faith to a grinding halt. Never allow people to rob your faith. Jesus understood the danger and He did not allow anybody except three of His disciples to accompany Him.Finally Jesus and others came to the ruler's house but the trial of their faith was far from over. When they came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, Jesus found people weeping and wailing. But Jesus told them in Mark 5:39-42, "the child is not dead, but sleeping." Further we read in Mark 5:40-43, "And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, "Talitha, cumi," which is translated, "Little girl, I say to you, arise." Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement."You can see the people who could not believe what Jesus said and they ridiculed Him. Yes, my friend, it is not easy to walk by faith. The day you decide to walk by faith and not by sight the world will ridicule you. Whole world will laugh at you and they will consider you as an insane person. If they have laughed and ridiculed our Master Jesus, how they will leave us alone? They will give the same treatment to us. But we can see in all these laughter, ridicule and unbelief, Jesus never wavered from His faith. He put them all out and performed a mighty miracle by raising the little girl from death. Yes, it is not easy to keep your faith when others are laughing at you. But Jesus could look beyond natural. When He looked beyond natural and because of it He had faith. He knew that heavenly father can do anything and nothing is impossible with Him.Today also if we want to see miracles in our lives we need to focus on God and His ability to do mighty things. No matter what circumstances could be when we are focused on Him, we would have faith to move mountains. Miracle would follow because of that faith. Let us shut our natural eyes and start seeing through the eyes of faith. Just like a small child believes that the promises of his father is true. What he has spoken, he will do it. In the same way what our heavenly father has promised, He will bring it to pass. Just believe!
