God's protection is for His children. There is a God who wants to protect us from all evil and He is interested in our wellbeing. Psalmist says in Psalms 121:1-8, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills-- From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore."We just do not know how many dangers lie hidden for us on our ways and even in and around our home. But if we ask for God's protection in our lives, He will provide for us.Once I was listening to Ravi Zechariah, a renowned preacher and Christian philosopher. He said that he was traveling in Russia and in a deserted place his vehicle broke down. He and a bunch of people who were traveling with him stood at the road side, not knowing what to do. None of them knew how to fix it and make it to run again. Their hearts were failing because it was a dangerous place and their lives were in jeopardy if they had to stay there longer in that place. As they stood they saw another car approaching and it gave them a sense of hope that they could get some help. But to their utter despair that vehicle went past them speeding up not stopping in that place. Ravi Zechariah and their companions had very devastating moments. They tried several times to start the vehicle but all their attempts failed. After an hour or so in desperation the driver tried again to start the vehicle and it started. They traveled along the same road and they had not gone long further when they saw the horrific scene that each and every person of the same vehicle which had speeded away were being shot and looted. When they saw that horrific scene they realized that if their vehicle did not stop, it would have been they instead of those other people. Ravi Zechariah said that it did not happen by chance but because of God’s intervention and God’ protection they were safe.Sometimes God allows us to go through some circumstances which may be troubling for us but He does it with a purpose and at the end it works out good. Once I saw the testimony of a lady. When she woke up in the morning she prayed and asked God, "what should I do today?" And God told her to go for a particular shop. After shopping as she came out of the parking lot, she was kidnapped. The abductor was a fugitive from prison whom police was searching. The said lady was frightened but when she talked to the man, he was convinced that he was doing wrong thing. He repented from his sins and turned to Christ. At the end of the day, he was ready to surrender. She led that dangerous fugitive to the Lord and also she returned home safely.God is not only interested in our safety in this world but also for eternity. He came for the very purpose to take away our sins so that we could have eternal life and live with God forever and forever. He is interested to take us to heaven and make our future a blessed one. If your sins are not yet forgiven, come to Jesus and give your life to Him, He will forgive and forget all your sins and will give you eternal life.
Today we are going to look into the topic of wealth, prosperity and financial blessings. I read many posts in message boards stating that, "prosperity is a dangerous heresy." A group of people think that poverty is a blessing from God and a sign of humbleness and that a believer should not have riches and wealth. They think that every person who believes in Jesus and are ministers of the Gospel must not be rich or wealthy. I was very curious to know about this theology and tried to have a good Bible study to find out what the Bible has to say about it and to my surprise I figured out that the Bible talks entirely the opposite of this view. According to the Holy Bible, poverty is a curse and that it comes from Satan who brings poverty like any other calamities and sicknesses. Deuteronomy 15:6 "For the LORD your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you." Bible says, "you shall lend to many nations but you shall not borrow." It is not possible for you to lend to many nations if you are poor and in rags. You can't lend to others if you are yourself begging for food and cloths. But according to this verse it implies that you must have everything in plenty and in overflowing capacity so that the leftovers will be in such large quantities. That's how you could lend to many nations. We must not forget that this verse says, to 'many' nations. 'Many' means not one or two people or one or two nations, but many nations to whom you are giving. Think about it, if you want to give to many nations how much far greater riches you need to have. Otherwise you can't give to many nations. Forget about nations, but even if you wanted to give some gift to every person in your city, how much money you need? I am sure you need a whole lot of money but if it is for many nations then you must be very rich. You need riches like Abraham, Solomon, David and many other Bible characters had, who were very rich. Otherwise it is totally impossible. If the Lord says that you can, then it means that you can have such kind of riches and wealth and God will provide such wealth. According to this promise you will lend and give and give but you will not borrow or beg from others.Deu 15:4, "Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it." God wants that there shall be no poor among you and it's a promise from God for His people. Now, what does Bible tell about poverty?Bible talks about poverty in many places and there are many reasons behind it, why a person is poor. According to the Bible poverty is not a blessing and it doesn't come from God.1. Poverty comes because of laziness and idleness:Proverb 6:9-11, "How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep; So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man." Prov 19:15 Laziness casts one into a deep sleep, And an idle person will suffer hunger.2. Poverty comes because of drunkenness:Prov 21:17 He who loves pleasure will be a poor man; He who loves wine and oil will not be rich.Prov 23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.Poverty comes NOT because it is God's will or because it is a blessing from God but due to sinful habits. It comes also because of human faults. The above two reasons explains it well.3. Poverty comes because of witchcraft and SatanPoverty is a spirit and satan places it in your life to make your life miserable so that you could curse God and turn away from God. Look at the life of Job. He was very rich and wealthy. He was so rich that he used to wash his feet with butter. Satan didn't like the wealth and blessings of Job. That's why he says to God, "stretch out your hand and touch all that he has and he will surely curse you to your face." Satan thought that if he could take away the blessings and riches from the life of Job he could get control over Job. Job 1:8-11, "Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?" So Satan answered the LORD and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? "Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. "But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!"In other words Satan said to God, "take away all his money and wealth and children and he will curse you to your face. That's what satan did when he got authority from God. He destroyed everything which Job had. He took away all the wealth and even he took away his children. That's what satan wants to do in your life too. He brings poverty in your life so that you could curse God and turn away from God. Satan's main purpose is to divert you from the ways of God and bring your soul into hell fire. Poverty is not a blessing from God but it comes from Satan. I believe in prosperity and the God of Bible wants to give us all the blessings including riches and wealth. Money made with integrity and pure conscience is not sin but a blessing. If you are making money by crooked ways which does not belong to you then it is not prosperity which God brings in your life but it is stealing. The God of the Bible wants to give us prosperity and blessings in every field of our life.Are you going through financial crisis? Are you saying that you don't see hope at the end of the tunnel. Are you in a hopeless and helpless situations? Are you jobless today? Are you in a position where you don't know from where the money would come to pay the next bill. Is your home for foreclosure? Are you broke today? Look to Jesus. He can fix your situation. Look to Jesus who never fails anybody. You might not know how to pull yourself out from this bad mess but Jesus knows how. Corrie ten Boom and Betsy ten Boom were Christians who lived during nazi (Hitler's) time. They were thrown into the concentration camp and torture was so great. After watching one atrocity after another, Corrie told Betsy, "This place is a pit of hell!" Betsy replied, "There is no pit so deep that God's love is not deeper still." You might have hit bottom and all hell broke loose around you but please remember nothing is impossible with Jesus. One who flung the stars on the firmament with His one word, can turn your misery in split seconds. All these years of my life I saw that He has been so faithful that He never left us nor forsook us. He was there in our darkest hours. He will be there for you if you just call Him. Look to Jesus and get rid of your troubles and tears. I am sure He will make a way for you out of nothing.Today I am going to pray for you to see the end of that financial crisis which bothered you a lot. but before that I want to take a moment to pray for you so that you can connect with Jesus your creator. Are you willing to surrender your life in the safe hands of Jesus? Are you willing to invite Him into your life so that you can receive peace and joy in your heart? If yes let's pray.Lord Jesus I believe that you died for me on the cruel Cross. I believe, that because of your sacrifice I can receive forgiveness of my sin and peace in my life. Please come into my life and change my situations around. Please forgive and forget my sins and wash me with your precious blood. Cleanse my heart Lord and make it whiter than snow. Lord I praise you that you heard my prayer and you are changing my life. I pray in Jesus name. AmenLord Jesus I pray for these dear ones who are going through deep financial trouble. I command the spirit of poverty to leave them in Jesus name. Spirit of poverty loose these people from your hand in Jesus name. Spirit of poverty I command you to go into hell fire in Jesus name. I take authority over you with the authority which Jesus has given me and I command you to get out of these lives in Jesus name. I send you in hell fire right now in Jesus name. No more poverty for these precious people. No more oppression. Lord Jesus I thank you that you are going to change the situations of these people Lord. You are going to set them free and as you have promised you are going to bring prosperity in the lives of these people so that they never borrow but lend and give and give. Lord I praise you that you are going to do it. I pray in Jesus precious name Amen. And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
