Once the Scribes and Pharisees came to Jesus and asked why His disciples transgress the tradition of elders? Jesus answered and said to them, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition" (Mat 15:2)? When He further spoke on this subject He said to them, "Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition" (Mat 15:6). Again we read in Mat 15:10-12, "When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, "Hear and understand: Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." Then His disciples came and said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?"Jesus spoke plain and simple that the Scribes and Pharisees were giving much importance to their traditions instead of God's commandments. Their tradition was so important for them that they made the commandments of God of no effect. Jesus told them that washing their hands or keeping themselves clean physically would not help in living a holy life. But they did not like it and they were offended by the words of Jesus. Later when Jesus' disciples came and said to Him in Mat 15:12-14, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?" But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch."Even today we can see that the religious leaders give priority to man made traditions than the commandments of God. Bible colleges and Seminars are good, but how many of those who come out of those prestigious institutes really follow the commandments of God? I grew up in a Church where salvation of God is hardly preached. Most of the times it was said that we are lucky and blessed people because we are born in Christian homes. In my teenage years I sat in the church and always thought, "if it is true then why do I not see any blessing in my life and in my home?" Later on I finally found the answer when I met Jesus and invited Him in my life as my Lord and Savior. Jesus told His disciples to preach the "Good News" of His saving power to save us from sin and from misery, but how pathetic it is that our churches do not give priority to it. How true it is when Jesus said, "They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch." In another place Jesus spoke "Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered"(Luke 11:52).Those who are supposed to teach how to unlock the door of heaven, door of blessings and door of hope have somehow lost their vision. Does it not amaze you why they are doing nothing? The reason is very simple, they have heard, read and studied about God of the Bible and Jesus, but have never known Him personally. Jesus quoted the verse from Isaiah in Mat 15:8-9, 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'"Dear Friend, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ is that He came to save sinners and to deliver them from their sins and misery as written in Isa 61:1-3, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."If you have not yet received the forgiveness of your sins, invite Jesus in your life as your Lord and Savior. When He will come in, He will remove your burdens, pain, sorrows and misery and He will give you eternal life.
John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”The Bible says that Jesus is the only way to heaven. It means that if you want to go to heaven you can go only through Jesus. There is no other way which could lead you to heaven. Well, sometimes it looks offensive to people. Once I was just sharing about salvation and presenting Jesus to a group of girls. I did not even mention anything about Jesus as the only way. One of the girls got very furious and began to yell and shout at me saying, “why Christians preach that only Jesus is the way to heaven. Do you think that all the Hindus are going to hell? Do you think millions of us are going to perish?” Well a wrong notion has been created by many Christian preachers saying, “all the Christians are going to heaven and others are not.” The truth is that neither all the Christians are going to heaven nor all the people of other religion are going to hell. First of all, the different religions were not created by God. It is the human beings who created their own gods and religion. Some began to worship trees, stones, angels, devil, dragons, moon, stars and hence many religions came in to existence. Since God is not a partial God, He has kept only one criteria for all human beings to get into heaven. When God the creator of the universe saw that human beings whom He created had fallen in very horrible and pathetic condition due to sin and as human beings cannot save themselves from hell fire, and when God saw that His own handiwork had sinned and got into the trap of Satan, He decided to rescue this fallen man. To do so God had only one way out, that was to send His one and only begotten son Jesus Christ into this world to die for the whole human race. According to God’s plan, Jesus came into this world in the form of a man and finally died on the cruel cross to make a way out for the entire humanity. As God sends rain and sunshine for each and every human being regardless of religion or race, in the same way God sent Jesus to die for the whole humanity in order to save them. So God’s plan for all the humans is the same. If you are born in a Christian home it does not mean that you were born with silver spoon in your mouth. No certainly not. The Bible NOWHERE describes that ‘all the Christians are going to heaven’. Some preachers and teachers of the Bible created it all. So the rule for salvation is the same for everybody regardless of your religion, race or culture. Whether you are born in christian home, hindu home or a muslim home, no matter whoever you are you can receive the free gift of salvation through repentance of your sin and through the pure and spotless blood of Jesus. So the bottom line is whether you are christian, hindu or muslim, you need salvation. For salvation you have only one way out that is through Lord Jesus Christ. Now the question is why ‘Jesus’ only why not by any other way. Let us examine few things to understand it. 1. Jesus the savior:The Bible says that Jesus came to save that which was lost due to sin. Mat 18:11, "For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.” Jesus means ‘savior’. He has power to save us from sin. Mark 2:10, "But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins". Indeed Jesus came to save that which was lost, which was stolen by devil. You and I are His creation but satan has stolen us by putting sin in us. The day Adam and Eve our first parents sinned, Satan got authority over the whole human race, and from this situation there was none who could have rescued us except Jesus. Jesus has authority and power to forgive sin. Have you ever heard anybody else claiming that they have power to forgive sins? No none. Many have come and gone but no one could ever claim that they could save us from sin except Jesus. Many so called gods and religious leaders came and have gone but no one had ever claimed that they are the savior of the world. 2. Jesus died to save us:The Bible says that Jesus came to die for our sins. Jesus took our place to redeem us from the hands of Satan. So Jesus became the perfect substitute for us. If Jesus had not come we would have perished in our sins and we could not have found any redeemer, deliverer. Look at history; no one ever claimed that they died for us. Many religious leaders and teachers came and are gone but no one ever died for human beings no one had ever taken our place to save us. 3. Jesus rose from the dead:This is the victory we have if we trust in Lord Jesus. He conquered death and came back alive destroying the sting of death itself. Mat 17:22, 23, “Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, "and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up." Has anyone ever risen from the dead? NO, NONE. Many came and are gone for ever and are still dead. They could not win victory over death. So how can they give us victory? I would not put my life and eternity in the hands of those who could not save themselves. I would not follow those who are dead and are still buried in grave and have no ability to raise themselves up. But look at the Lord Jesus Christ who boldly proclaimed it saying, “I am the Resurrection and the Life.” John 11:25, “Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. John 11:26 "And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" What a powerful claim Jesus made. This is the hope which every believer has. If you are a born again believer you know that our greatest hope in this world is that one day God would resurrect our mortal bodies and we are going to live with Him for ever and ever. 4. Jesus is Holy:Jesus said, “be holy as I am holy.” 1 Pet 1:15-16,” but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." This is the one greatest test you can make. Put all the religious leaders and so called gods into test and see if it is worth to follow them. Test and see if they are holy and are role models. If somebody steals something what do you call him? Thief - right? If somebody is dating with many girls what do you call him? Playboy right? Then why do you want to trust such gods who are not morally correct? If somebody says to kill Jews and Christians to get to heaven do you want to do that? I would not trust such gods because you know by common sense that if you kill somebody you will end up in prison. Then how somebody can get to heaven by killing innocent people? I would definitely not put my soul, life and eternity into such person’s hand. Before you trust somebody as god please put them in test and see whether it is worth it. I would not put my eternity in somebody’s hand who is not trustworthy. But look at the life of Lord Jesus. He is not only resurrected savior but He is holy. The Bible says, God is zero tolerant toward sin. The God of Bible does not condone sin. The Bible does not say keep on sinning and still you can have a place in heaven. No. Bible speaks about the God who is most holy and who does not delight in sin. 1 John 1:5, “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” The entire Bible speaks about holiness of God and His alienation from sin. That is why the entire Bible speaks about sin and its punishments. That is why Bible gives importance to repentance, forgiveness of sin, salvation, heaven and hell. That is why Jesus and His disciples preached the message of repentance and escape from hell. Yes Jesus saves, delivers from sin, gives holy and clean life. Not only that He promises resurrection from the dead and eternal life to those who are His blood washed children. Yes Jesus is the way to heaven. I would like to invite all of you my christian, hindu, muslim and all other religion friends to come and test this Jesus. Come and accept this Jesus as your Lord and Savior. I promise you, you would never feel sorry again. He has power over life and death. He has power over heaven and earth. He can turn your entire future. He can give you life eternal. I found this Jesus nearly twenty-five years back and was never sorry again. That was the best decision I ever made in my life. I put my life, my soul and eternity into the safe and mighty hands of Jesus. You know preaching is not in my blood. My parents are not preachers. I did not come from a preacher family. I am a very timid and shy person. When Jesus has called me for the ministry the first thing I told to Him, “Lord I think you have chosen the wrong person, see I am not bold enough nor am I skilled enough to preach the Gospel. ” But today I am preaching the Gospel. Not for money, name, fame or because of ability but because of the only one reason to just tell Jesus how grateful I am. By preaching the Gospel I am just saying “Thank you Jesus for saving me from hell fire, thank you Jesus for forgiving my sins, thank you Jesus for giving me a place in heaven”. Do you want to accept this Jesus who is all-powerful to pull you out of hell fire? Do you want to put your future in the safe hands of Jesus? Then please pray this prayer from the bottom of your heart.Lord Jesus, today I come at the foot of the cross, just as I am. Lord I am unworthy and unholy person. But today I come trusting in your saving grace. Please forgive and forget all my sins. Please come into my heart. Lord wash away all my sin with your precious and holy blood. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. I repent of my sins and am willing to live a holy life hereafter. Thank you Jesus for hearing this prayer. Thank you for accepting me into your family. Thank you Jesus for giving me eternal life. I pray in Jesus precious name. Amen. Ps: If you have prayed this prayer please let me know. As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
