It is very sad that 50% American marriages end up in divorce and 1 million children every year hear from their parents that they are taking divorce. Once I was watching a Christian programmer, they said it is better to be single rather than having a divorce.. ok, this advise may be good for those who were not yet married but what about those who are already married and at the brink of a divorce? Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-25, "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock." What is the meaning of founded on the rock, who is that rock? The Bible says in 1 Samuel 2:2, "No one is holy like the LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God." And also the Bible says in Deuteronomy 32:4, "He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He." Yes, God the father is that rock and whoever builds his house on that rock will never fall, that house will stand forever and forever. I remember how broken our house was. We used to talk normally and it always ended up in fighting. Not a single day passed when we did not fight. It was such a hell, when I used to go to school, I used to think, evening may never come again and I should not go back home... how greatly my soul longed to be killed in an accident. How greatly I longed to kill myself or ran away from my home. I thought there is no hope for us. Many a times I shouted at the top of my voice that hell will be better place than this house. But one day we invited Jesus in our lives and in our family and things started changing. It was not at all easy to forgive and forget the past, it was never easy to remove the bitterness from our hearts but when Jesus came into our house, He wiped away all the bitterness from our hearts and filled our hearts with His love, He gave us a heart to forgive each other and forget the past, He bounded us with cords of love, and fighting with each other ended there. Today my family members are my best friends. After coming to Christ we went through much problems but we fought with devil as a family and won all the battles. My dear friend, I know most of you are in the same situation and wondering who will help us? Many of you have a broken home and thinking, who will heal our broken homes and broken hearts? Who will show little mercy on us? May be your home is looking nice from outside but inside it may be broken in pieces. I want to tell you if Jesus can do this for me as a wretched person, He can do the same thing for you and for your family. Invite Jesus in your hearts and homes today. Isaiah 50:1 "Thus says the LORD: "Where is the certificate of your mother's divorce, Whom I have put away? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I have sold you? For your iniquities you have sold yourselves, And for your transgressions your mother has been put away." Isaiah 50:2 "Why, when I came, was there no man? Why, when I called, was there none to answer? Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Indeed with My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness; Their fish stink because there is no water, And die of thirst." Isaiah 50:1 describes God's reaction against spiritual adultery of Israel. God called Israel to His chosen Nation and tried to gather it under His divine protection as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings (Matthew 23:37)Rebellion Brings Divorce: God is asking "Where is the certificate of your mother's divorce" and goes on describing that Israel has sinned and it is that iniquities and transgressions of Israel has brought it a certificate of divorce. My dear friends "Sin" and "Rebellion" brings divorce. Jesus Clarifies it in Matthew 19:8 that God never intended divorce but It was introduced in the Law of Moses because of the rebellion of Israel. When I talk about it I am being reminded of how Israel asked for a King in 1 Sam 8:6. Looks to be a very reasonable demand, Samuel is old, his sons are not walking in the way of the Lord. Israel needs a very strong Leader who can give them political stability but Samuel was displeased with the demand. For a moment a thought moves from our mind. Samuel is suppressing the popular demand and Samuel cannot be right. But there comes the decision of God in 1 Samuel 8:7 1 Samuel 8:7, And the LORD said to Samuel, "Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them." In the first half it looks that Samuel was really wrong but there comes the strongest words "but they have rejected Me (God) " And God warns them of the consequences of having a king you can read it all in 1 Samuel 8. And if you look at the History you see everything said by God did happen. Israel rebelled against God and rejected Him by asking a king. Same Israel rebelled against God and got divorce and the Law of divorce.Turning to God Brings reconciliation: Isaiah 50:2 Why, when I came, was there no man? Why, when I called, was there none to answer? Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Indeed with My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness; Their fish stink because there is no water, And die of thirst. Yes many times when God wants to talk when He comes we are not available for Him, we do not answer Him. Because we think that if we listen to Him we will not be able to fulfill our wish. Perhaps we do not want to hear what God wants from us. We do not want to hear his sweet counseling but what we want is only blessings that also what we think that it is right for us. But those who listen to the voice of God and obey Him receive the blessings. Mat 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Do we seek God? Instead when God comes searching for us we try to run away and hide. Genesis 3:8, "And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden." Genesis 3:9, "Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?" Genesis 3:10, So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself." Do we find ourselves in the very same situation where Adam and Eve found themselves? Yes many times we do the same thing specially when we disobey God. And we fulfill John 1:11 "He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him." But when we receive Him, He gives us the authority to become Children of God. John 1:12 Isaiah 50:5, "The Lord GOD has opened My ear; And I was not rebellious, Nor did I turn away." Isaiah 50:6, "I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting." These two verse are talking about Jesus's obedience to His father. We read it in Philippians 2:8 Philippians 2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Matthew 26:42, "Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done." He was obedient unto death for our sake so that we may be made whole. Are we obedient to God? Isaiah 50:5 says The Lord God has opened My ear and I was not rebellious. Let's stop rebelling against God. And turn to Him." God is asking "Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver?" So Cheer up and rely on the God of Abraham, God of Isaac and God of Jacob and He will deliver you. Give your problems in His hand and He will gladly take care of you. Do you try to solve the problems yourself and find it impossible to solve? Give it to Jesus and He will gladly solve it for you.
I was praying and the Lord gave me this message. Let us see what kind of family God wants, what He desires that a family should be, like this and this? What's an ideal family in the sight of God. There are two types of families.1. What is Family: A person who marries a woman and having children the whole unit is a family. This is the general definition of a family. Today we see all over this kind of a family. In India it was always taught what the family value is. That means society teaches them that they are supposed to marry only one time and they are going to live with their partner all their life weather they like it or not, weather there is mutual understanding between them or not. And when a person thinks of marriage this factor is always in his/her mind. And that's the reason I think due to the fear of society, people never think of divorce or separation. Any way I like that culture. Bible says the same thing. But it is really sad thing that we say ourselves to be a Christian but forget the word of God, many times we see people fail to obey God's word. In TV, I heard that 50% Americans end up in divorce. God is not pleased with "DIVORCE." Proverbs 2:17-18, "Who forsakes the companion of her youth, And forgets the covenant of her God." "For her house leads down to death, And her paths to the dead;" My dear friends always remember that you stood in the alter of the house of God and took vows before God that you are going to live with your companion till death separates you. You cannot despise God, always remember to honor God, because you made covenant before God. You said that not before a Pastor or a man but before God. God heard it and you are accountable for this in the sight of God. Never take it too easy, don't ever think that "if I cannot adjust with one person I will find another one." God will judge everything which you do. Malachi 2:14, "Yet you say, "For what reason?" Because the LORD has been witness Between you and the wife of your youth, With whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion And your wife by covenant Malachi 2:16, "For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one's garment with violence," Says the LORD of hosts. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously." Bible clearly says that it is not a joke. It matters with Spirit or spiritual things. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously." It can affect your spiritual journey, it can destroy your Spirit. Once a person told that he is dating and living with his girlfriend and after 2-3 years they will get married. Is it pleasing to God? When you are already living as husband and wife out of wedlock how come it will be a "HOLY METRIMONY" when there is nothing HOLY. 2. What is Godly Family: There is another type of family. Godly family, a family who walks in the ways of God. A husband who fears God, wife also is God fearing and their life is Christ centered. Christ is the head of that family. Is your family like that, does the Lord dwell in your home, do you feel the presence of God all the time, do you keep all the family matters at the Lord’s feet, does He speak to you what to do and what not? Think about a family that is built on the solid rock which is Jesus Christ which will endure forever. When I was a young child I always heard my mom scolding. Many times I thought is it a hell? We had lot of problems, there was no peace in our home. But from 1980-83 all of us got salvation and our life started changing because Jesus came in. When Jesus came in, things started changing slowly, Lord brought unity and joy in our family. Now things are different, we sit together and pray, spend time with each other, talk about God and about the word of God. Share each others burden, share each others joy. If one person knows something means everybody of our family knows that thing, our lives are like an open book. When I see my mom today I wonder, I see her always praying whenever she is free. Many times I woke up at night 2,3 or may be at 4 o,clock and it surprises me that she is still praying I think weather she ever sleeps or not. All these years we experienced the peace and joy in our home and lives. When Jesus comes into our lives it happens. He is the carpenter of Nazareth who mends broken homes. The key is to invite Jesus into your life and family. Is your home broken? Invite the master when He comes every thing will be alright, the storms will subside the winds will calm down and life will become a joyful thing. 3. Family which prays together stays together:1. Make a Family Alter: This is the secret of family unity. Family which seeks God will get help from God. If you honor God He will honor you. If you seek Him as a family or individually every time, when you get into trouble He will come running and help you. In 1981 I heard the message of Bro. D.G.S. Dhinakaran (a man of God from India). Brother said "If you do not have family prayers make a family alter today or one day you will have to prepare a grave for your premature children. Day will come when people will come and say, "your child is drug addict he/she died due to drugs." Or they become lunatic and somebody will come and throw them to your house and will say they are not of any use. Turn to God before it's too late. Make a family alter. When we heard this message my dad said let us start family prayers and from that day on we gather every morning and evening to seek God as a family. Lord spoke many things during family prayer and it came to pass in God's time. Do you have family prayers, do you gather as a family and spend time in the presence of God. If not make a family alter today itself and the Lord will keep you united. 2. Let Christ become the Head of your family: Many times we see in houses a board saying:"Christ is the unseen guest of every mealVery silent listener of every conversation" Yes my friend invite Him in your life and family not as a Guest but as a Head of the family. Because guest does not have any voice in your family.i.) Invite Him into your Personal life: Have you ever invited Him into your life, did you ever say "Lord come and save me from all my sins and live in me, did you ever tell Him that you want salvation, you want to be born again?" If not today invite Him, let Him be the Lord and master of your life and your life will never be the same again. You will receive the joy unspeakable not only that He will take care of every aspect of your life. And when you will finish the earthly journey He will take you to heaven. Is it not marvelous? ii.) Invite Him into your Home: Yes my friends invite Him into your family and home. Tell Him Lord come and dwell with us and take care of us and He will gladly do it. When Jesus "the prince of peace" comes you will enjoy peace in your family life. When Jesus "the carpenter of Nazareth" will come He will mend and restore your home. When Jesus "the bread of Life" will come He will feed you with heavenly manna and you will never starve. When Jesus "the good shepherd" will come He will lead you to streams of living waters. When Jesus "the light of the world" will come He will lighten your home and darkness will depart.Will you do it? Please pray with me : Loving heavenly father I come to your presence. Lord my life is not right with you. Lord my life is not joyful. Lord I am not having any peace. My life is broken, my family is broken, I am a total failure in my life, but today I come to you. Please come into my life and repair everything. Please Lord give me peace and joy.. Wash me with your precious blood and make me whole. Forgive my sins. From now on I will live for you. I will walk in your ways. I will follow you in everything. From today on you are my master. You are the Lord of my life. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
