I was watching documentary on animal rescue of hurricane Katrina. When hurricane Katrina hit in New Orleans, many people and animals could not get out of the town. They were stranded in attics and on rooftops. Many pet owners could not take their pets with them so they left them in homes with few days water and food supply. They hoped to return home in few days but days turned into weeks and pets left with no other choice except to starve. Some of the people, who left their pets behind, regretted about their inability and helplessness. When a few rescue workers saw stranded dogs, cats and other animals without food and water, they decided to rescue them. Despite the warnings of polluted water and infectious diseases they went around and rescued many starving and thirsty animals. Some of the rescue workers broke down when they saw the deteriorating condition of animals. It was amazing how rescue workers worked round the clock and tried to save as many animals as possible. They could not see those little, helpless creatures dying so they came in for their rescue.Adam and Eve sinned against God and were left with no other choice except to leave the holy presence of God and to face the cold, harsh world and even death. Because of sin everyone is separated from the creator and caretaker. We are stranded without food, water, supplies and are left to die. God looked at the pathetic condition of human being and He could not see us in this miserable condition anymore. He could not see us in helpless, hopeless, starving and dying condition. He came for our rescue. 2000 years ago He became man so that He could save us from our sins and give us new life. Today this new life is available for us because of the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Yes, my friend, you need not to be stranded, helpless, hopeless, miserable and dying. But you can have a wonderful life filled with peace, joy, blessings and goodness. Jesus said in Mat 11:28 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." How lovingly He is calling! Why live a miserable life when He has already paid the price for our blessings and goodness?We wish all our readers a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving Day! On 24th Nov. America is celebrating Thanksgiving Day. A day separated to think about the bountiful mercies and goodness of God showered in our lives. Every year we look back and thank God for the blessings He poured on us in the whole year. But I can say this year is more special for me and my family to thank God for His great mercy, which He showered on us in past weeks and months. Exactly two months back on 23rd Sep. my dad was hospitalized. And what happened next was completely unpredictable and heartbreaking. On 3rd Oct. he had respiratory arrest and doctors and nurses tried to convince us that every thing was over. According to them there was no use in proceeding any further or putting him in ventilator. Neurologist said, "Though the X-Ray or CT scan do not show any sign of stroke and meningitis test also looks ok yet I believe that he had a massive stroke and chances of his recovery is none. Do you still want to put him on ventilator" Now everything was hanging on one word from my brother, "yes" or "no". When they asked my brother said, "yes, we want to proceed anyway with all the remaining options to save dad's life." Still we were afraid thinking what would happen if he will not regain consciousness? Will he be in vegetative state forever or if he regained consciousness still will his brain work normally? When doctors were preparing him to put on ventilator we got few moments to pray for him. We all laid our hands on him and commanded in Jesus name that let all the organs of his body start functioning normally and he could get complete healing.Whenever I think about that day, it sends chills in my bones that how stupid we would have been if my brother had said "no" (not to proceed any further). I always think that how anybody could ever leave a person to die like that who was still breathing. Not only that but my dad regained consciousness within twenty-four hours after they put him in ventilator. Of course it was a miracle beyond the imagination of any doctor. Our hearts filled with gratitude and praise for our precious Savior Jesus Christ who graciously revived dad's life.But the road ahead was not that smooth as we thought. His health remained uncertain and often it was roller costar yet we thanked God for every little progress we saw in his life. In between he again had respiratory failures two times and he was needed to put on BIPAP ( a machine that helps to breath ). After two times he was on BIPAP, he lost his memory. On 5th Nov. he was looking very weak and sleeping most of the time. After visiting him, I was heart broken and thought, "O, Father God, how long we are going to go like this?" All the way back home I was crying. At night when we were praying in our family prayer Jesus said, "I am personally visiting your dad and healing his immune system." Next day when we entered in his hospital room, we were surprised. He was looking like just awake from long sleep. In front of him there was breakfast tray. When we asked him to eat his breakfast he replied, "I want to brush my teeth, I want to take bath and I want to change my dress then only I can eat. More than that the food is cold, I want hot meal and hot coffee." He also said, "bring my glasses (specs) and mirror so that I may see how I am looking." In the past one and half months we did not hear him asking all these things. That day we realized something miraculous had happened overnight just like Jesus told us.But again he retained carbon dioxide in his lungs and again he had to be on BIPAP. My brother said, "twice he has lost his memory now this is third time, we do not know what would happen to his memory." But to our surprise his memory was sharper than before. He started remembering things better than before. He also started walking with the help of a walker and is in a better shape. We thank God for the healing and health God has given him so far and we believe that the same God who has healed him this much will completely heal him and give him strength to walk out of that hospital very soon. With Psalmist I can say, "I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify Him with thanksgiving" ( Psa 69:30 ).We are also thankful for those families and individuals who helped us, supported us and were with us in this time of trouble. We thank all of you, who prayed for us, from the bottom of our hearts.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
