By Sherly Isaac

Neh 8:10 Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our LORD. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

The above verse speaks that, "Joy of the Lord is your strength." When we do the will of God and when we try to please Him and make Him happy, He becomes our strength. God has no pleasure in sin and in those who are heading toward hell fire, but He rejoices in the righteous.

Once an alcoholic got saved and a great change came in his life. His bad habits of drinking left him. He started living a life pleasing to God. Once he happened to pass in front of a bar. Suddenly he remembered his past life and temptation started coming over him and trying to take control of his life. He stood there thinking for about a few moments. One side temptation was there and on the other side Holy Spirit's conviction was there. He was battling with conflicting thoughts and he prayed for divine help from above. Then Jesus' marred body on the cross came before his eyes. That man saw Jesus in great pain and bleeding profusely. Then he thought, "if I go to alcohol bar and drink, I will nail Him one more time and will make his pain greater. Thinking that, he turned away from that place. It gave him more strength and courage to fight sin more vigorously.

There was another person who was involved in night clubs and drinking parties. One day he heard salvation message and gave his life to Jesus. His life also changed dramatically and he started attending Bible study groups and Church regularly. One day his old friends came to him and insisted on his going with them for the party. He refused at first but later on he could not resist himself and went with them. He drank heavily and danced with his friends. While returning home at midnight he was struck by a vehicle and he died on the spot. A man who chose death and destruction for himself and died a miserable death.

When God did not accept Cain's offering he got very angry and God said to Cain in Gen 4:7 "If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." Still he did not heed the voice of God and killed his brother Abel.

Today also God wants to help you to come out of your sinful habits and live a holy life. He wants you to leave this world behind and live for Him. How many of you will hear His voice and follow Him? How many of you are prepared to make Him happy with your decision? If you do that He will become your strength and shield to protect you from all evil.

Celebrating completion of seven years!!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are glad to tell you that "In Search of Peace" Magazine has completed its seven full years on the net. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for your prayers and beautiful letters you have written time and time again.

Here we are publishing some of the mails that came in our mailbox last year.

Dear Editor,
I was deeply moved by your boldness in proclaiming the word of God with profound integrity displayed only by the 1st century Christians. The modern Christians misuse the God given volition for accomplishment of ungodly or selfish goals. It is good to see that there are still believers around, who truly stand for the Lord. Every day we hear about new Theologies some of which are more than blasphemy. Tolerance of homosexuality is but tip of the iceberg. There are countless other areas as well, where today’s Christians compromise with diabolic teachings knowingly or unknowingly. In an attempt to establish peace and harmony, we compromise with the teaching of all religions forgetting Christ’s own proclamation that He is the only way to God the Father. When we come across a cult that takes the name of our Lord Jesus, we still compromise saying, they too are worshiping God and that it is fine. The list of conciliation is endless. It is a very sad situation indeed. It is not God’s plan but rather the Devil’s schemes that are being materialized with every compromise against the teachings of the Holy Bible. Nobody is spotless except Jesus. The Bible says so. Yet, as God's children we should strive to get rid of the elements within that are ungodly and be redeemed by the blood of JESUS who has died for our sins THROUGH WHOM ALONE WE HAVE SALVATION. This strife has to be an ongoing activity till we are set free from our mortal bodies. By faith in Jesus, we could all overcome the temptations and trials of this world. Let us be aware that Satan is roaming like a roaring lion trying to devour the ones especially who are godly. He knows that he does not have to worry about the ungodly. If we identify with the Tolerance Theologies, we are precisely turning lukewarm like the Church of La-odicea -- neither cold nor hot. If this is our direction, there is a clear warning from the Lord " I will spew you out of my mouth " (Rev. 3:16). So, let us all be edified by the touch of the Holy Spirit, be filled with the pure oil and burn continually, ready for the rapture. The door of grace can be closed any moment. Time is running out.
God bless,
Ipe Mathews

PRAISE THE LORD"
I would like to thank each and every members of the Intercessory prayer group for praying for my wife's sister Philomena when she was suffering from blood cancer. Jesus touched and healed her completely there was no traces of blood cancer when the test was conducted second time it was just a minor operation in the Tata Hospital in Mumbai and also the Expenses was just 10% of the total amount because Jesus helped them to find a Doctor who was their neighbor during their childhood days when they used to go to school. even though she was on a waiting list the Doctor used is contact and gave her first preference this all happened with the powerful and mighty blessing of Jesus Christ..

Secondly my wife's sister Rozlin who was without a child for the past 3 years even after 2 miscarriages Jesus blessed her with a baby boy in April 2003.

Praise The Lord Sister,
Your testimony really touched me. I will definitely pray for you. I believe God still works through the prayers of HIS people. I use to get filled with courage and inspiration after reading your articles. I thank God for HE is blessing you to carry on HIS work like this. Please pray for me , I want the anointing of Holy Spirit. Although I am trying to work as much as I can for HIM but yes I have to admit that fruit is not that much. I want God to make me His mouth piece and pray for his people (specially sick and demon possessed people). As you said anointing is must for a fruitful ministry, so please pray for me that God will give me the anointing of his holy spirit and that whatever I do is fruitful for HIS kingdom. Please pray for me.

Dear loving sisters and brother in Jesus Christ,
I am a frequent reader of your Godly articles/messages which inspired me to be closer to our father in Heaven. During last two months, I was on vacation and amazingly I got married to a loving lady and true believer in Jesus Christ. I strongly believe that this is a Heavenly gift and a long awaited miracle due to my previous personal request for a prayer in this respect. Prayers are answered unexpectedly. Our Jesus lives and loves us. Let us praise His name!

God's Love is better than wine - Part 2

By Sherly Isaac

Song 1:2, "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth; For your love is better than wine."

What wine can do for a person? Wine makes a person to forget his sorrows, pain and sufferings for a short period. Wine also cheers God and men (Judg 9:13). Wine makes a person merry as we read in Eccl 10:19, "A feast is made for laughter, And wine makes merry; But money answers everything."

When I took flight from India on the way to USA there was one stop at Frankfurt, Germany. On the previous night we could not sleep properly and as we had to catch the connecting flight we were sitting at the Airport. Half awake I looked around and saw the scene which we seldom see in India. Most of the women were smoking cigarettes. It made me sick in my stomach. Another shocker was that when I attended some wedding parties in USA, we saw very young kids drinking with their parents. Today many smoke and drink, some for fashion, some to show themselves to be in high society, some for pleasure and some to forget their sorrows and pain. But all these things give temporary relief and temporary pleasure and at the end it will destroy your life. That is the reason why Bible says in Eph 5:18, "And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit."

Last week we saw how a person could get the love of God in his life by accepting Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and how they could get permanent solution from their sorrows and pain. Bible tells about another experience which the disciples and other believers had in their lives which we read in the book of Acts chapter 2. We read that when the Day of Pentecost came, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

When this happened people heard them speaking in their own languages instead of speaking in the language of Galilee and it caused great deal of confusion among them. Bible says in Acts 2:12-13, "So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, "Whatever could this mean?" Others mocking said, "They are full of new wine."

But Peter stood up and said in Acts 2:15 and onwards, ""For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.'"

They got filled with the Holy Spirit and it looked to others as if they were drunk. Yes, they were drunk of Holy Spirit. The filling of the Holy Spirit is the most wonderful experience one could ever have. I remember when I got filled with Holy Spirit. A great joy filled my soul and I felt as if the springs of joy flowing from the depths of my heart. God wants to give you the experience of New Wine that will make you filled with joy. Jesus said to His disciples in John 15:10-11, "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full."

If you have received the gift of His salvation then you are eligible to receive the Holy Spirit so that your joy may be full. Ask Him and He will give the wonderful Holy Spirit to you. Jesus said in Luke 11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
