Today is the day of Thanksgiving. Founding fathers of this nation proclaimed a day for nationwide thanksgiving and for praising God remembering the blessings that He had bestowed in the lives of people. They set apart a day to praise and thank God. Even today how much important it is to remember all the benefits God has given in our live. When God adds blessings and prosperity in our lives, it is our duty to thank Him and praise Him and glorify His name. Moses reminded the people of Israel to thank God for all the benefit He brought them in Deu 8:7-10 when they were about to go and possess the good land which God promised them. We read in Deu 8:7-10, "For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you."The above verses tell us of how much good a land God gave them - A land bearing all the blessings and prosperity. And whenever the Israelites walked in the ways of God and gave all the glory, praise and honor to the Lord, they prospered in all their ways, but whenever they did not obey God they lost their blessings. They lost their prosperity, they lost their wealth, health and God allowed them to go into captivity. David was a shepherd boy who had a few sheep. He was not a wealthy man but God exalted him to be king of Israel. Why? The reason is very simple. David obeyed God in everything. He loved God and walked in the ways of God. He thanked God for all the blessings God gave him. God saw the love of David towards Him and He made him prosper. After David, Salomon became king and in his days there was so much prosperity that he made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as stones (2 Chr 1:15 ). He was so prosperous that he not only built the house of God with pure gold but also his own house. He was a man who walked literally on gold as the floor of his house was of gold, he ate in vessels of gold, the walls of his house were overlaid with gold... Can you imagine how his house would have looked, all over gold, gold and gold. That's what happens when a person walks in the ways of God. Bible says in Prov 10:22 , "The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it." Yes, when God gives blessings and prosperity, He does not add sorrow with it. There are many wealthy people in this world but many do not have peace, joy and blessings in their lives. They live a miserable life. But those who walk in the ways of God will live in peace.Acknowledging God's goodness and giving Him honor and glory brought prosperity and blessings in the lives of the Israelites but contrary to it whenever the kings of Israel did not walk in the ways of God, they saw defeat, defamation and loss of their valuables. After Salomon there were kings who did not walk in the ways of God and they lost all their wealth. Hezekiah and other kings who feared God and walked in His ways were prosperous. USA is a blessed and prosperous nation because the founding fathers of this nation acknowledged almighty God and gave Him glory due to Him. There are many nations where people are starving and are living under poverty line. Whatever blessings we enjoy in our lives is a gift of God. He is a God who really wants to see that His children get all the blessings and prosperity in their lives. God said to Joshua in Josh 1:7, "Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go."Today this message is for us too. If we walk in the ways of God and thank Him for the blessings He has given in our lives, He will prosper us and bless us.We wish you all a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving day.
Isa 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Bible says that those who wait on the Lord shall be like eagles. It means that those who fully trust in the Lord and those who are walking in the ways of God, will be like eagles. Further Bible says that they shall mount up with wings like eagles. It means that they will fly higher and higher for the Lord. There are many who call themselves to be Christians, believers, saved, but when you look at their life they stink with sin. God has called us to fly higher and higher like an eagle in holiness but many do not know how to and they live like vulture, a bird which always prefer to eat dead and decaying flesh. Vulture is called a scavenger bird, which generally feeds on carrion. In the same way, many continue in sin and in sinful lifestyle even after salvation. One night we had a whole night prayer in our house. As we were beginning our prayer one of my brother's friends who was known as a saved and spiritual person came in. Suddenly I smelled the smell of liquor in the air. I was shocked thinking, "he is a saved person, does he drink". Well next day I was discussing the same thing with my brother. My brother said, "he is definitely a saved person so he should not drink. He might have taken some medicine that might have smelled that way." Well, though that answer was not satisfactory, I did not give second thoughts on that. Once we thought that as he is spiritual, he might help us in some work, but later on we could realize that he was not a trustworthy person. He was telling hundreds of lies and his answers to certain questions changed ten times and slowly we started losing our trust. You cannot trust a person who tells lies on your face or who always hides things and twists things. It was a great shock for us to know how a person who called himself to be saved and a believer can cheat us like that. He not only cheated us a big time but we lost hundreds of thousands of rupees because of him.Yes love of money is binding many believers in it's grip. It is like a hook which does not lose it's grip easily. Many spiritual lives as well as ministries were lost because of money. Love of money makes one to get into the lowest levels. Many murders and killings happen because of money. I read many stories like that. Because of property dispute and money matters some even kill their own brother or relative. What a pity!! Money is the root of all evil. Bible says so. Money, money, money, because of STINKING and WRETCHED MONEY, people sell themselves, lose their peace, relationship, faith and even kick God out of their lives. 1 Tim 6:9, "But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 1 Tim 6:10, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. God has called us to fly like eagle on higher plain not to live like a stinky vulture all the time on ground levels looking for dead and stinking meat. Look towards heaven all the time and pray, "Lord how could I lead a holy life, how could I sound like your disciple in word, deed and thought." As long as you will live in sin you will stink among corpses and dead flesh but the day you learn to lead a holy life, you can fly like an eagle. That's what God wants from all believers and saved people. God does not delight in sin. Lord said, "if you sin you would die in your sin." John 8:21, "Then Jesus said to them again, "I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come." Here Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees. We find from Bible that Jesus scolded the Pharisees and Sadducees several times; He called them "Hypocrites". Yes your rituals and traditions cannot save you. If you do not live according to God's laws, if you will not refrain from your sins it is sure that you will die. Your soul will die in hell fire and after that there is no escape or way out. Bible says that sinners will burn till eternity in hell fire. Do you know what Eternity means? Dictionary says, "Being without beginning or end; infinite, Endless". Yes it means that your soul will burn in hell forever and ever. The pain will never end; the torment will never die down. Do you not want to escape from hell fire? I am sure you want to. Get saved if you are not yet till today. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior in your life. Invite Him into your heart. Tell Him that you are sorry for your sins and hereafter you want to lead a holy and sinless life. If you are a saved person, try to lead a life, which is sinless. Always long for holiness, always ask for holiness, and think about holiness all the time till this thought will transform you and saturate you. Read the Bible daily and correct yourself accordingly and it will help you to stay away from sin. Bible speaks about several types of sin. We've to check every time whether our life is free from all these types of sin, whether our lives are really a transparent life before God and before people. Every time when we read Bible we've to examine ourselves whether those things apply to me, whether I need correction in that area. Here is a short list of sin. Gal 5:19-21, "Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." I still remember one of the incidences which took place in my life long before, even before Salvation. My family and I used to visit one family very often. They were our family friends from long time. One day we visited their house and my mom made a cake in their house to show them how to prepare it. My mom put it in oven and left three of us at their home and said, "when it is done after 45 minutes or so you should take it out." So when it was done they asked me how do you remove from pan and how do you cut it and so on. I told her generally what we do. Then she cut the cake and made very big pieces and distributed it to every one. Well within few minutes the 2kg cake was finished. So she asked me "do you finish cake so quickly like this, it was a 2kg cake so it should have lasted for a while." I told her, "no in our house it usually lasts for a week or so." She again asked, "then why did you not tell me"? Well I felt very bad thinking that I was so shy to tell her at the right time that we don't cut such huge pieces in our house. After 2-3 days she and her family visited us. She told my mom the same thing, she told, "your daughter did not tell us to cut small pieces so we all ate it at one time." I was so embarrassed thinking, "why I could not tell her at the right time." Well days passed by though it was not a big mistake or a sin but still every time when I used to remember this incidence it hurt me badly. Although it was not a big deal but still I repented hundreds of times for this before God till I found peace in my heart. I repented hundred of times till I was free from guilt. Yes repentance is that key to stay away from guilt and sin. It is better to repent hundreds of time till you get rid of the particular sin instead of losing heaven. Some sins are so stubborn you might need to repent several times even months but it does not hurt. Every time you repent, by doing it you will show God that you are willing to change, you are willing to correct yourself and that is always good. I am not ashamed to tell you that I did it with several stubborn sins in my own life. I prayed for months together and begged forgiveness from God till the stubborn sins left me totally. Yes you can lead a guiltless and holy life. Bible says that your sins will find you out. Num 32:23, "...and be sure your sin will find you out." The sin we commit small or great, it does not die down but the guilt follows sometimes for months or years. God reminds our sins so that we can repent and get rid of it. Bible says that who confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Prov 28:13, "He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. That's why Repentance is very necessary. Jesus said, repent, if not you all will perish. Luke 13:3 "....but unless you repent you will all likewise perish". If you stay in those sins it will increase in your life, but if you confess and leave right away those sins, it will bring life and deliverance. Let us fly like Eagle on higher grounds. Let us always look towards God for all our needs. Let us bring our sins before the almighty God and correct it at the right time before it is too late. Let us be honest and holy before God all the time and let us inherit heaven at any cost. May God help you to lead a holy life.
Psalms 30:11, "You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, to the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever."These are the prayers of David showing gratitude towards God who changed his impossible situations and made him happy. He turned his mourning into dancing and enabled him to take off his sackcloth and He clothed him with gladness. Bible also tells us that many a times David was in deep trouble and was surrounded by enemies, but in those situations, God miraculously delivered him. There were times when his life was in danger and there was unending battle going on. There were times when he thought that death was only a step away from him. But every time God saved him, protected him from his enemies and finally made him king over Israel. Yes, there is a God who can turn around your situation, your circumstances and make impossibility a possibility. There is a God who can wipe away your tears and give you joy. You may be shedding bitter tears today and may be thinking that there is no hope for you. But if you look to Jesus, He can change every equation and turn around your circumstances. Once we went through terrible financial problem. One night I saw a dream. In my dream I saw several angels coming to our house. There were six or more angels. Each of them had a sack on their back. One by one they unloaded their sacks in one of the rooms of our house and they turned and went away without saying a word. I was standing there and watching everything. I do not know how I knew without their telling that all the sacks had grocery and food items. The last angel passed by me and went one or two steps further then he turned and looked towards me. He smiled and said, "These would be for you to eat for many-many days." I smiled and nodded my head in reply and they all vanished right before my eyes. In the morning I thought, "What type of dream is it?" But right away I knew that God would provide us supernaturally in our time of trouble. Our financial condition worsened but God provided us so miraculously for many more months that we had enough to eat three good meals everyday. He did not allow us to be hungry even for a single time of the day.I remember one more incident when God provided us miraculously. It happened when the Babri Mosque was demolished in India and there was wide spread riots taking place all over India. On the last week of Nov. my mom told my brother to purchase grocery and she said, "In the next month Christmas is coming. So purchase extra grocery. So my brother purchased for one and a half months grocery. But we had no idea about what lay before us. A few days later, the Babri Mosque was demolished and there was curfew for more than one month and shoot at sight orders were given. No one could go out of their homes but we had enough to eat.Yes, there is a God who cares for you and wants to bless your life. Are you going through impossible situations today? Have you lost all your hopes? But Jesus can help you. He can turn your situation around and can bring back smile on your face. He can wipe away your tears. He came down in this world for the very purpose. He gave His precious life for us on the cruel cross so that we could come out of our sins and live a blessed life. If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior please pray this prayer: Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. Please forgive and forget all my sins and give me a new life. Today I accept you as my Lord and Savior. From now on I will walk in your holy ways. Please wash me with your precious blood. Thank you for giving me this new life. Thank you for turning my circumstances around. I pray in Jesus name, Amen.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,Praise GOD! Before Nov. 11th fasting prayer I had sent a prayer request, to pray for L.C. who was an Alcoholic. GOD miraculously touched this man and he stopped drinking, and he accepted the invitation to go to prayer meetings. It was a great miracle that I saw and it also strengthened my faith. Praise GOD for his wonderful work. Please continue to pray for this family so that GOD should give him the complete deliverance and heal him.Thank you once again for all your prayers.Prasanna
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
