The three and a half years of ministry of Jesus was completely unique and very dynamic. In those days He shook the nations and turned them upside down. Wherever He went the lives of the people were turned around. Wherever He preached, people got delivered from their sicknesses, from their pain and sorrows. Many rose from the dead and there was great joy and happiness everywhere. He started His ministry changing water into wine. Once He was invited along with His disciples in a wedding. At the middle of the wedding, the mother of Jesus who was there noticed that there was no more wine. But Jesus turned the water into wine and saved the host from embarrassment. After that His ministry exploded and multitudes followed Him. Even He became so busy that He could not find time for eating food. If He wanted to take rest and wanted to go to some deserted place for that purpose, crowd would go before Him. Often He found that multitudes were waiting for Him. Though He was hungry and tired and wanted some rest, yet when He looked at the faces of people who were sick or in pain, He was moved with compassion for them and healed them. I can say that He forgot His tiredness and hunger but delighted in His Father's business. He not only healed the sick, not only cleansed the leapers but also raised the dead. The only son of a widow in the city called Nain had died. What could that poor mother do except to cry and weep? First she saw her husband dying and now her only son is dead. Her whole world would have come crumbling down. But there is a God who looks at the very hearts of the broken ones. When He looked at her heart, He could have seen nothing but millions of pieces of her heart! Oh, the master was frozen on His tracks and once again He was moved with compassion for her and made him alive again. I cannot imagine how happy she would have felt seeing her dead son arise, sit and talk again. She would have laughed uncontrollably and would have danced with boundless joy.That's what Jesus is and that's what Jesus' love is. In one split second He healed her broken heart by turning impossible to become possible. Then we read about a man who was devil possessed. He was so uncontrollable that sometimes he fell in fire and sometimes he fell in water. His parents were totally brokenhearted. And there was another devil possessed who had many demons about whom we read in Matthew 8:28, “When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way." And we read about him in Mark 5:3-5, "Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains, because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones." But in one split second their demons were gone when they came to Jesus and their lives became normal again. Jesus had power over not only physical bodies of people but He also demonstrated extraordinary power over nature. By His one word stormy sea was calmed. By His one word wind stopped blowing. Men were astonished seeing these amazing miracles.What was His secret; of this dynamic and power packed ministry? Bible tells us in Act 10:38, "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”Beyond all these, He forgave the sins of people. Even today, Jesus can heal our sicknesses, calm our storms and forgive our sins; if we just humble ourselves and turn to Him.
Joshua and the Israelites needed to cross the Jordan River when they had to enter into the Promised Land. That was the time when Jordan overflowed all its banks during the whole time of harvest. But God spoke to Joshua and said in Joshua 3:13, "And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap." Joshua had an impossible situation in front of him. But he knew that the God of all possibilities, the God who can turn any situation around, the same God who had brought them out of Egypt by His mighty and outstretched arms, the same God who performed amazing and awesome miracles was with him.As soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who were bearing the ark of the LORD, touched the waters of Jordan, water was cut off and it became dry ground until all the Israelites crossed over. Jos 3:16-17, "that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho. Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan."Jos 4:19-24, "Now the people came up from the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and they camped in Gilgal on the east border of Jericho. And those twelve stones which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up in Gilgal. Then he spoke to the children of Israel, saying: "When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, 'What are these stones? then you shall let your children know, saying, 'Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land'; for the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over, that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty, that you may fear the LORD your God forever." What a miracle it was! If God is going before a person or nation, there must be success and prosperity in his ways. Ark of the LORD was the same where God used to come down and talk to Moses. This was the meeting place where God met Moses and the Israelites. We read in Exodus 25:22, "There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are upon the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you of all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel." Whenever Moses went to meet God, God's glory filled that place. Mercy seat represented the presence of God. And if this God is with us and if He is going before us, failures cannot stand before us but only success and prosperity can follow. The same God who promised Joshua that He will be with him, walk before him and give him success in everything he do, the same God fulfilled His promise. The same God is ready to do the same for us, if we give our lives to Him and walk in His ways.

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month.
