When God created Adam and Eve, He blessed them saying, “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth”(Gen 1:28).God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue the earth… have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living things that moves on the earth…” In short God gave full authority to man to rule over the earth and to keep the whole earth as an empire. But unfortunately men could not hold to that prestigious position with him but allowed it to be transferred to the devil who deceived Adam and Eve by making them to eat the forbidden fruit. They lost blessings from their lives. Sin came in this world and their lives became miserable. Because of sin all kinds of misery came in this world.But Jesus came in this world to give those blessings back to us. In John 16:33 He said, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." By shedding His precious blood on the cruel cross He snatched those blessings back from the devil that which was long lost by men. And today He wants to give those blessings back to us. He wants to make us blessed in this world. If we give our lives to Jesus and become His child, He will give whatever belongs to Him.The LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them”(Deu 28:13).Many people think that if you are a child of God you should be downtrodden, poor and in low level. But Bible talks differently as we read in the above verses. It is not God’s will to see you filthy, poor and beaten down but it is the will of devil who comes to steal, kill and destroy. But there is a God who loves His children and wants them to prosper.
Psa 37:3 -5, "Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass."Psa 103:5, "Who satisfies your mouth with good things,..."Bible says that when we walk in the ways of God, when we honor God and try to obey all His commands, He fulfills the desires of our heart. God says, "trust in the Lord and do good. Delight yourself also in the LORD". He expects from us that we always do good. That's why king David prays like this: Psa 141:1 LORD, "I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to.." (Psa 141:4), "Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice wicked works With men who work iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies." Here David says, "help me God to always do good and walk in holiness and righteousness." We are also supposed to do the same thing. We need to clean our lives. When temptation comes prompting us to do evil we need to run from it. With the help of Jesus we can do it. He expects that we always trust in God and seek His face for each and every need. When we seek Him with all our heart He satisfies us with good things. How true it is. He is a good God and He cares for us. When we walk through the troubles and problems of life, He walks with us and helps us. When we walk through the midst of the great needs of ours, He does not leave us but fulfills the desires of our heart.I recall many incidences when God fulfilled the desires of our heart in very impossible situations. I remember once that our sewing machine broke and I wanted it badly. Sewing is part of my life and it is my passion. At that time we were going through financial crisis and we did not want to spend extra $100 for a sewing machine. So there was no chance to get a sewing machine. Months passed by and I stitched few dresses by hand. Stitching by hand is tedious, painstakingly slow and involves a very long process. One day my dad said, "Why are you working so hard stitching by hand, let's try to buy a cheaper machine. Then we went to store and found one machine costing $20 but it was a mini machine hardly 10 inches long and looked like a toy. Finally we decided not to waste money on the toy machine. Few more months passed by and my sister began to search for it in Internet and on ebay. One day she found a best deal. The seller said it is a very good machine and original value was $250. It had many embroidery options and it worked fine but it skips stitches and she could not fix it. Finally we got this machine for $2. My brother tried to adjust it but was not successful. So again we had to look for a new machine. Within fifteen days my sister found another auction on ebay. We won that bid too for $6. The description said that the machine worked fine but is a mini machine. I was not very interested to bring this machine home. I told my brother to let it go because I didn't want another toy and it was more than an hour drive from our house and so we were not willing to drive for 2 to 3 hrs for a toy. Well my dad said, "why can't you bring it since you already won it and it would be better than hand stitching." So finally we went and got the machine. When I saw the machine I could not believe my eyes it was a regular size 19" machine. It worked like a charm. I was more than delighted and stitched many dresses. The other surprise which took place was that a few days after bringing the second machine my brother tried once again to fix the first one. Then he figured out that the plastic bobbin case was broken. We ordered for a new bobbin case and it worked fine. After getting two good working machines when I thought about the whole incidence tears rolled in my eyes. I was wondering that there was a time when I had hard time finding a single machine but now God gave us two good working machines and that too for just $8. God definitely sees our desires and fulfills it in due time. Many times we literally don't even pray or ask for it but it comes. I remember one more incident in my life. I loved cats and wanted one as a pet. In my family everybody loved cat except my dad. He was very much against it. Whenever we talked about cat he used to freak out and get upset. He said, "I never want cat in my home, they are so dirty." When I was a child he allowed me to keep aquarium but not cat. He had such hatred toward cat keeping. So I knew that unnecessary argument would not do any good and decided to forget about keeping cat. Those desires were long dead and buried somewhere deep inside of me and I really forgot about it. Meanwhile my dad got visa for US and he left. We had a yard around our house in India and a stray cat used to come. Some times we gave food to her. One day the said cat brought five kittens with her. They played in our yard and felt safe there. After a few days I figured out that the mother cat was not coming and feeding the kittens. My sister and I looked at those kittens and their faces looked very sad. They looked at us with watery eyes. My sister said, "it looks that they are hungry for days." so I gave milk and they drank it. They were so tiny and adorable. We began to feed them and they stayed in our yard. After a few days there was a big rain shower so they all got inside of our home and they became part of our family. Out of five two survived. I can't tell you how joyful the next four-five years were with those cats. They were definitely a bundle of joy. They brought joy in our life through their playfulness and silly behavior. I believe that they came as a surprise gift from God. If you are a cat lover you can understand it very well. If you are not a cat lover you might think that it is a silly dream and it does not make any sense. You can sure live without cat or such desires but still God sees those small insignificant desires and remembers it. God sees our heart and honors those silly and insignificant looking dreams. That is God's nature. He is our heavenly father and He brings those dreams into fulfillment. Now around twelve years have passed by but those sweet memories with cat never fades away. When we remember about those naughty playful cats it still gives joy and satisfaction. If you are a child of God, God will bring your desires to fulfillment. You might have many forgotten dreams in your heart and it might be dead and buried by this time. But God of the Bible keeps an account of those desires and dreams and He fulfills it at the right time. The Bible asks us to seek God and follow Him and He will bring the desires of our heart to fulfillment. He will resurrect those dead dreams and bring it to pass. If you look in the Bible you will find there many who had almost lost their hope and buried their dreams. If you look at John chapter 5, there we find a man who was sick for thirty-eight years. John 5:5, "Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years." See that he was sick for thirty-eight years. There was no hope for him to get healed. There was no hope for him to see better days. He had literally no hope and did not have any meaning for his life. He might have been very much depressed in his messed up condition. He might have buried his dreams of getting healed. He might have buried the hope for seeing good days in his life. Half of his life was lost in this sickness. He was totally bed ridden. He was not able to even help himself. He was definitely in a very pathetic condition. But remember that Jesus did not forget him. Jesus knew very well that there was a man sick and bed ridden for thirty-eight long years. Finally Jesus did come at the right time to resurrect his dead dreams. Finally Jesus had arrived to give him a new life. You know the story. Here is what has happened to him.John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been in that condition a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?"John 5:7 The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me."John 5:8 Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk."John 5:9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.What a great miracle took place. Jesus came and healed him in a split second. Jesus came and healed his dead limbs. Jesus came and resurrected his dead dreams and desires. Jesus came and gave life to his body, which was dead and lifeless. That's what Jesus does when He comes in our lives. He gives a new life to our dead and buried dreams. He gives a new life and a meaning to our long-standing desires. Do you have Jesus in your boat? Do you have Jesus with you? If yes He would surely resurrect your dead and buried dreams. He will wipe away your tears and give you a new meaning to your life. Please look at Him who is the creator of everything. Nothing is impossible with Him. Are you at the brink of bankruptcy? Look to Him. Are you at the brink of a break down? Look to Him. Are you at the brink of death? Look to Jesus who can help you out and can give you new life. When Jesus comes sickness runs away. When Jesus comes sin fades away. When Jesus comes life eternal comes. If you have not received Jesus into your life so far invite Him into your life. By receiving Him you will find meaning and purpose in your life, if you are willing to do so let's pray. Loving Jesus please come into my life and resurrect my dreams. Please forgive and forget my sins. Cleanse me with your precious blood and make me a new person. I lived in sin long enough now. I lived in hopeless condition is enough now. I buried my dead dreams, it is enough now. Please come into my heart and dwell inside of me Lord. Change my life, change my dead situations, change my hopelessness and give new meaning to my life. Thank you Lord for coming into my life. I pray in Jesus precious name. Amen.
