By Sherly Isaac

Death is a very painful thing. When Jesus was about to be crucified, He was in great pain but His disciples could not understand His pain. He was in such pain that His sweat became like great drops of blood as we read in Luke 22:44, “And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

This was the mental agony of Jesus. He was arrested, put on trial and He was punished for the crimes He did not commit. He was wounded mentally, physically and emotionally. The pain and sufferings of Him was far greater than what any human being could ever have. When all these things happened with Jesus, not only He but His disciples, His mother and close friends also suffered greatly. Disciples were so much frightened that they shut all the doors and remained inside. Fear took over them. Their dreams were dead and buried, their hopes faded away and their future was uncertain. Would their fate be the same as of Jesus’ that fear haunted them.

This is what death does to a person. Death of a loved one is painful and heartbreaking. But death could not hold Jesus in the grave. When His disciples thought that it was all over, He rose up from the dead on the third day. He defeated death and despair on the cruel cross. He came out of all the tragedies victoriously. And by being victorious, He gave us new hope. He turned their tears and pain into joy and celebration.

Today you could be in deep trouble. You could have lost all your hopes. Those dreams of your hearts could have been dead and buried for long. But my friend, the same God who defeated death will defeat all your troubles. Those dreams would come alive and would be resurrected. Ezekiel saw a vision of dry bones. Where there was no hope for those dry bones to ever live, God told him to prophesy over those dry bones as we read in Ezek 37:4-6 Again He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, 'O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: "Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD."'”

This is the power of resurrected Savior. He can breathe life in your dead dreams, dead marriage relationship, dead business and hopeless situation. This is resurrection week when 2000 years ago He rose from the dead. This is the week when He defeated death and eradicated the pain of death. Why then should we have pain of death in our lives?

Let us ask God for His resurrection power to work in our lives too and remove death from every area of our lives. Let His life giving power work in our lives. And He will surely perform a miracle for His children. He will turn your tears into joy.

We wish all our readers a very happy and blessed Easter. May the blessings and life giving power of our resurrected Savior be with you.

Fear can hold you back but Jesus can resurrect your dead dreams

By Vinod Isaac

Gen 42:38 But he said, "My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is left alone. If any calamity should befall him along the way in which you go, then you would bring down my gray hair with sorrow to the grave."

Famine was getting severe in the land of Canaan. Jacob and his sons were running out of options. Either they go to Egypt and bring more food or they starve to death. Their first experience of going to Egypt was not very pleasant. Simeon was taken as prisoner. Joseph who was governor of the Land of Egypt had given strict orders to bring Benjamin with them.

Jacob was very much certain that Joseph was dead. He did not want to lose Benjamin also because He loved Rachel very much and Joseph and Benjamin were the only two sons he had by Rachel.

Jacob had great hopes about Joseph. Joseph was the kid who obeyed him and was walking in righteousness. Joseph was the kid who had dreams from God that he is going to become somebody, someday. But in Jacob's mind Joseph is gone. Joseph is dead. All the hopes and all the dreams were buried with the death of Joseph.

Bible doesn't record Jacob hearing God's voice at this time of anguish. Even if he had heard would he be in a position to believe? If God had told him that Joseph is still alive was there a way he could have believed? Circumstances and situations before him were too overwhelming for him. What he was seeing with his natural eyes and hearing with his natural ears were too much convincing and more than enough to take away faith.

“Rachel is dead; Joseph is no more and will Benjamin also die?” Fear gripping in his heart, he was not able to perceive that the very thing he was afraid of was the key for him to meet with Joseph - to get reunited with his long lost son.

In such situations Jacob is saying
Gen 42:38 But he said, "My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is left alone. If any calamity should befall him along the way in which you go, then you would bring down my gray hair with sorrow to the grave."

In almost similar fearful situations Jesus hears that Lazarus is dead. The Jews had tried to stone Jesus in the town of Bethany and this is the same town where Lazarus was sick unto death. When Jesus discussed it with his disciples saying "Let us go to Judea again"

John 11:7 Then after this He said to the disciples, "Let us go to Judea again."

His disciples were not ready because they were afraid. They were afraid of death. They were with Him who had power over death yet they were afraid. They had absolutely no clue that the very thing they were afraid of was going to be overcome by Jesus and that Jesus is going to resurrect Lazarus from the grave.

John 11:8 The disciples said to Him, "Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?"

Jacob was forced to send Benjamin to Egypt but Jesus went to Bethany willingly. Jacob received the word that Joseph is still alive and Jesus' disciples could see that Jesus has power over death and they could see Lazarus walking out of the grave.

Jacob finally found his missing son after many years. Do you have any loved one who is missing and you can't find them? Jesus can bring them back again. I have heard from the Lord that this week few of the people who had been missing are coming back home. It is time for sons and daughters to come back home. If you have any loved one missing, believe for a miracle.

Are you afraid because your dreams had been shattered? Jesus can resurrect your dead dreams. He can turn failure into success. Just look to Him.

Good Friday & Easter

By Sheela Isaac

We are going to celebrate Good Friday and Easter. Why do we celebrate? what is the reason behind it? You may think that it is so simple that we all know about it. But it is so unfortunate that many do not know the real significance of it.

Bible says that God put Adam and Eve (the first human beings) in the Garden of Eden. Not only did God put them there, He warned them beforehand saying, “if you eat from the forbidden tree you will surely die.” Gen 3:1-5, "Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?" And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; "but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.'" Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." When God had kept them in the Garden, He also gave them free will and free choice. They were free to choose anything, but alas they chose sin rather than righteousness. They chose death instead of life. That was how sin entered into the world and sin is still ruling us. We are given the same choice today also whether to choose good or evil, whether to choose sin or righteousness.

When God saw that His own creation had messed up everything He grieved. They misused the choice of free will. When God came to know about it He was left with only two choices. 1). To just sit and see that the whole human race perish in hell fire. or 2). Send His only begotten son Jesus to die for the whole human race. I remember the story I read long back. It is a very touching and true story. It was submitted by (LouraZeeva) and published in 1998 in the 34th issue of "In search of Peace" magazine. I want you to read the story in her own words.

A man and a wife got married and wanted many children. They lived in Oklahoma (USA). The woman got pregnant but had a miscarriage. After she was back on her feet they moved to Mississippi. The husband got a job lowering and raising a bridge on the Mississippi. He would lift up the bridge for the boats and lower it for the train. His wife soon got pregnant and had a boy. He praised God for the husband was told his wife could never have kids.

Well, with his job he couldn't take off and he did not get to spend time with his son. He invited his son up to work with him one day when the boy was about 6 or 7, and mom packed him a lunch. The father soon found a break when there would be no need to lower the bridge for another couple of hours or so. He and his son went down the hill and ate their lunches where the boats passed by. After a while he heard a train and ran up the hill screaming for his son to stay there. He quickly pushed down the handle to lower the bridge but as he did he heard a child's scream for help. It was his son. As he saw the train coming he looked down and saw that his son had followed him and gotten caught in the gears of the bridge. He knew that if he lowered the bridge he would crush his only little boy. But if he didn't he would kill the 1 or 2 hundred people on this passenger train. As he cried he lowered the bridge. The train overwhelmed his little boy's cries. He pounded the sides of the glass as he looked in the windows of the train at people laughing and reading their newspapers. He screamed, "Everybody is laughing because I just gave my little boy's life for them, only my heart is broken!"

God did exactly the same for us. God decided to deliver His own creation from their miserable and pathetic state. So He had no other choice except to send His own son Jesus Christ into this world to die for you and me. That is the love of God. He loved us so much that He did not spare His one and only son but He gave Him too for us. Yes that is what Good Friday is all about. Jesus died for you and me, He paid the ransom for many so that you and I may not pay for our sinful deeds, so that you and I may not end up in hell fire for eternity. When Jesus hung on the Cross I am sure God's heart might have ached and bled. But He did it for you and me. Today also we have a free will and a choice. God did not put us in this world as robots which operate with the push of a button, but He has given us freedom. Choice is still ours. We have ourselves to decide what we have to do with our life. It is we who have to decide where we want to spend our eternity. God has nothing to do with it. God does not send anybody to hell but it is we who choose heaven or hell because of our free will. John 3:17 -21, "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. "For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. "But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. "Rom 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." The above verses clearly say that those who are in Christ Jesus are no longer condemned. It means that those who are saved and bought by the blood of Jesus and those who become sons and daughters of God are no longer condemned.

What about you? You might have celebrated many Good Fridays and Easters, but have you ever invited Jesus into your heart? Have you ever said, ‘God I need forgiveness of sin and a place in heaven?’ Jesus paid the full price on Calvary's Cross but still choice is yours. It is up to you to accept the free gift of Salvation or to reject it. It is up to you to invite Jesus into your heart or just do nothing. It is up to you to receive forgiveness of sin or to continue in sin. It is up to you to live a holy life or to live in sin. You have to make that choice. No one else can make that choice for you. Your parents or grand parents cannot make this choice for you. Your Church Pastor cannot make a choice for you nor get forgiveness for you. Your spouse cannot receive it on behalf of you but it is you who only can obtain it. Jesus paid the full price but if you do nothing it would not automatically come to you. If somebody prepared food for you and kept on the table it would stay there till you eat it. In the same way Jesus had completed the work of Salvation for you but it would not come to you till you receive it. Let me give you another example. If somebody brought a nice gift for you and you do not stretch your hand and receive it, it would stay in the gift giver's hand. If you say 'No' for it, still it would stay with the gift giver. So both the cases have the same result. Here is the same thing with Salvation. Jesus brought the free gift of Salvation and a free pass for heaven for you. If you do nothing it would stay with Jesus and it would be considered 'Rejected'. And if you say 'No' it would also be called 'Rejected'.

Think about it. what have you done so far? Have you rejected the free pass for heaven or accepted it? You know it very well. If you have not accepted the free gift of salvation so far please do not reject it. Do not reject it on this Good Friday. Who knows, you may not find yet another opportunity for it. Who knows, whether it could be the last opportunity for you. If you do not have the assurance of going to heaven please come to Jesus. If you want to accept this free gift of salvation for which Christ died, please pray this prayer with me.

Lord Jesus, I know that you are the Son of God. Lord I believe that you died for my sins. Lord Jesus, thank you for bringing the free gift for me in this Easter season. Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for me on the Cross. Lord I accept you today as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart. Wash away all my sins with your precious blood. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Lord Jesus hereafter I want to lead a holy life. Give me a place in heaven and help me to lead a victorious Christian life. I ask in Jesus precious name. Amen.

Praise Him... & Prayer Request

Greetings! Many of you have been with me since March 19th, 2006 when my Hepatitis C viral level was at nineteen million (super high) and I was about to begin a one-year painful liver treatment.

Over the past year I have felt like a pincushion doing up to 4 injections a week and daily oral medications. The meds have many serious side effects and a couple years back put me in the hospital with severe anemia, requiring emergency blood transfusions.

This time around God has spared me of that and praise Jesus at months three, six and nine my hepatitis c was "completely undetectable”. This past Tuesday I DID MY LAST SHOT and will finish the oral meds next week when I take some final tests.

The meds can stay in ones system for two or three months so I ask you to pray that my hepatitis c will show up undetectable after six more months, which would be a cure.

Please also pray that the slight anemia that shows on tests will disappear, in Jesus name and as a side prayer request that my HIV will also STAY UNDETECTABLE.

GOD'S STRONG HAND HAS BEEN ON ME DURING THIS DIFFICULT YEAR (Soon to end) AND YOUR PRAYERS HAVE HELPED STRENGTHEN MY FAITH.

By His Stripes
Your brother.
