Last week in the G8 summit, world leaders tried to come up with a solution in the fight between Israel and Hezbollah, Lebanon but to the surprise, everyone voted against Israel except for USA. I thought, "Is there no friends for Israel?" But it is amazing that this little nation surrounded by enemies had survived all these years. Though numerous attempts were made to wipe them out utterly, how this nation Israel and the Jewish people survived? It was because God almighty has protected it. Psalmist says in Psa 121:4, "Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep." And the verses Psa 121:2-3 tells who the keeper of Israel is as we read, "My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber." Also in Psa 121:5-8, "The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore."According to His word, He protected Israel. How faithful is He who keeps His promises. He kept His promise which He made with Abraham thousands of years ago in Gen 17:7-8, "And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."The very day you give your life to Jesus, devil will become your enemy and will try to destroy your life. He is not a high school dropout but a very clever enemy who will carefully plan and act to destroy your life. He will try to tempt you and make you to sin against God. He will bring all kinds of problems, false accusations and crisis in your life so that you are tempted to forget to walk in the ways of God. He will loose all hell on you to separate you from the love of God. Are you a child of God and because of that are you seeing enemies surrounding you to tear you down? Look towards the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He will protect you and will give you victory over your enemies. Bible tells us in Psa 125:1-2, "Those who trust in the LORD Are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever."God will stand around you as high mountains so that enemy could neither come near you nor harm you. He will protect you from the fiery darts of enemy. If you put your trust in Him, He will not allow you to fall in the trap of the enemy but He will give you victory over your enemy.
Col 4:2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;Col 4:3 meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,Today there are many theological point of view on the subject of Prayer. Some think that we should pray for others but not for ourselves. Another group of people think that God knows every thing and God is doing what ever is happening and so there is no need for prayer. Another group of people think that we need to pray for only spiritual things, not for physical things. Yet another group of people think that we just need to pray a little and if we don't get answer assume that it is not God's will to have that particular thing.Here Paul is writing to the "Church in Colossians" saying "Continue earnestly in prayer". He is insisting on Continuous, earnest prayer with vigilance. It means that we not only need to pray but our prayer should have persistence. We should continue to pray till we get an answer from God.1. What is prayer?Prayer is simply talking to God. Telling Him what is going on in your life. Telling Him how thankful you are for the blessings He had given in the past. Telling Him the things that are bothering you and also telling him what you need. You can go and tell Him everything. It is a conversation with the Almighty God who is the creator of the whole world. He is a God for whom nothing is impossible. Gen 18:14 and Jer 32:27 says that " Is there anything too hard for the Lord"?. 2. Why should we pray?a.) God hears and responds to the cry of His Children.Hagar was in great distress as she didn't know what to do. Water she had was used up and she didn't have anymore water to give to her son. So she began to weep in desperation. God heard her cry and answered her. God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water from which she could give water to her son. In wilderness where there was no body else to hear the cry of Hagar, God was there to hear her cry and answer her.Gen 21:17 And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, "What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is.In the same way we see that when Pharaoh of Egypt was oppressing the children of Israel they cried out and God heard their cry. God sent Moses to rescue them from the bondage.Exo 3:7 And the LORD said: "I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.So be of good cheer for we have a God who hears and responds to our prayers. Praying to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is not like a request for which you are yelling and there is no body to listen on the other end of the telephone. No not at all, His ears are attentive to our payers.b.) Prayer brings protection from Enemy.Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.Devil is an experienced warrior and to be able to withstand the attack from the enemy prayer is a must. That is why Paul says in Eph 6:18 "praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;"In the current Israel, Lebanon conflict Hezbollah fired a missile directed to a Navy Ship of Israel. Although Israel had the capability to block the missile, they had not turned on the missile defense in their Navy vessel. Navy Ship was hit and four soldiers died. Exactly in the same way many times we do not know what the enemy has in store and we are not prepared to face the enemy. For us to be prepared, we need to be guarding ourselves with continuous and earnest prayer. When Jesus' heart was heavy, as he knew that His time for crucifixion was near, He was going to face the fierce battle for your and my sins, He took His disciples to the place called Gethsemane and there he was greatly distressed. His soul was exceedingly sorrowful.Mat 26:37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.Mat 26:38 Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me." There he knew that He had only few hours before Judas was going to betray Him and then it will be the beginning of his sorrow and death on the cross. Here He was in His last moments praying to father. He comes back and finds his disciples sleeping. He says to them in Mat 26:41 "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." To defend ourselves from the attacks of the devil we need to watch and pray.3. What should we pray?Mat 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.Mat 7:8 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.Mat 7:11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!Here Jesus is saying "how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him". Also James 1:17 says "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."God is willing to give every thing that is good. That will include but not limited to forgiveness of sins, Eternal life, Healing from sickness, Financial freedom and Freedom from bondage.Yes, you can ask anything that does not contradict the word of God. God is willing to give that to you. He is a good God.So finally we need to pray earnestly and with vigilance. I encourage each and every one of you to spend more time in prayer. Also pray for us as we bring His message to you. That we may continue to hear from God and bring His message not ours. Pray that we may be able to get every thing that Lord has stored for us. I was born in a Muslim family. From my childhood onwards, I was in search of the power which created this universe. I was not satisfied with the Muslim way of living and worship. Their custom of Parda system for ladies, allowing four marriages by a man, declaration of fatwaa by Maulanas etc. made me decide to search for the true way. Even Muslim Prophet Muhammed had many wives which made me to think, “how God can allow a Prophet to keep 12 wives, the youngest, Ayesha being only nine years old? He killed his enemies in battle and married their widows. He and his companions forced their enemies to accept Islam by defeating them. This made me angry over them and I decided to search for the true God.I used to accompany my father for going to mosque on ID-Ul-Fitr. But I never learned Namaz or understood its language. I just used to stand and bow down seeing others. When my head touched ground, I used to offer my worship in the form of few sentences glorifying the Lord. I just used to say, "The creator of the Universe, I don't know who you are, But I Love You and I am searching for you". I began my search for the true Lord. I went with my Hindu friends to Temples, but was not satisfied with their way of worship. I read Ramayana & Mahabharata and other stories of their gods, but found no truth. The stories were so magical that it was hard to believe, monkeys wearing clothes, wearing ornaments having kingdoms too, a huge man like Kumbhakarna, who used to sleep for the whole year and wake up one day to have his food and so many gods. They worshipped idols. Any satanic power can enter an idol. So, it was a sin worshiping idols.My father was serving in Air force in the Equipment Section. We would go for our summer vacations to our native place. In the year 1994, I was engaged to a Muslim Girl when I was 15 yrs old. She was my cousin. I used to call her sister before but my parents went to her house and gave her the engagement ring. Her brother came to my house and gave me a coconut in return as per customs. I could not throw that coconut because he was a very good friend of mine. I decided that I will never go to his house and will never visit this village till my engagement is broken.I could not study properly due to this problem and I was always planning to run away from house. So, I decided to start a small job and stand on my feet, to deny marriage to my sister. I joined Air force in Pay Accounting, in a hurry. There my life was calm. I went with one of my Roman Catholic Christian friend to Roman Catholic Church. But was disappointed to see idol worship of Jesus and Mary. My friend too was talking about girls in Church. I declared that Muslims, who hated idol worship, are better than Roman Catholic's. I went to Guru-dwara too. The Sikhs were very much away from the real truth. They only followed their Guru's and were limited to just thoughts. Lastly, I could not achieve success in search of God. I was posted in a different place. When I was there, I received my father's call that my elder sister's marriage was fixed. Earlier I told him that I will not come but later I reached a day before wedding. After the wedding of my sister, my aunty(my father's sister & girl's mother) asked me for fixing date of marriage. I replied her, "Your daughter is my sister and I can't marry her". She offered me a dowry amount of 5-10 lakhs Rupees, but I refused. How could I marry a Muslim girl when I am searching for the true Lord? Muslims had no way, just principles and orders from their prophet. So she returned that ring to my parents.I became an atheist and used to blame the Lord for all my sins. For example, I stared at a girl for the 1st time and said to Lord, "Its because of you I am committing this wrong act, because I searched for you but could not find you and now I am without any Lord". I began drinking also but my rule was to drink only 2 pages in a month. I made a rule that I will smoke a cigarette in a month. This all because of the Lord, if he exists. On my 20th birthday I got a vision in my dreams that Jesus is the Lord and he is going to come soon. The dream(vision) took me three years back when I was going to appear in board exams in 10+2. That day was 13th Feb 1996. The dream began showing my Physics teacher, asking questions to all the classmates regarding their ambitions in life. One by one each of us were revealing our ambitions. When my turn came, I said, "I want to see the Lord." He again asked, "who is your Lord ?" I said, "You guess because you are my teacher. You have more knowledge than me." He said, "Your Allah." I said, "No, it is just a name given to the Lord by Muslims, but their path is not true." He said, "Then it is Ram." I said, "No, they are only few stories." He said, "Guru Nanak." I said, "No, He was just a Guru, he can't be the creator." Then he requested me to reveal it myself. I revealed the truth in class with confidence, "Jesus Christ". He again asked, "How you accept Jesus as Lord when you are from Muslim family? What is so special about Jesus?" I said, "Because He is the Lord and, now He is going to come after 2000 years." This vision continued for 2 Months and I could not sleep during this period. While riding Motorcycle, I was asleep and our Lord saved me from accident. I saw the story of a man who will rule the world with an iron rod. He, Jesus Christ our Lord will come in this world. Our Lord is going to come in this generation. I am chosen by my LORD and because of that He is showing me good vision of his 2nd coming.Due to this vision my health decreased as I was not sleeping for 24 hours. I started talking to a friend regarding His 2nd coming. I told him, "Dear sir, I am telling you a truth which I have not spoken to anyone before. Jesus is really the God and he is coming soon". He told me, "Khan are you mad". I was admitted in Psychiatric Ward Command because I was talking regarding His second coming. The doctor was a roman catholic, I knew this by his face. So I spoke nothing to him or anyone in Hospital about my visions. I regained my health as dream stopped. I never read anything about the 2nd coming of Jesus. I searched in a Bible kept in temple room of Psychiatric ward (along with Gita, Kuran and Guru granth sahib) but could not locate it in Bible. After returning from Hospital, I asked few friends who used to pray in the living-in rooms(for bachelors). I saw them very devoted. I just had a glance of them when they were praying and they called me to join them. The 1st time I refused, but next week I joined them. When they finished their prayer, I asked them, " Is it written in Bible that Jesus is coming 2nd time after 2000 years". One Brother replied, "yes it is written in Revelations chapter but there is no mention of 2000 yrs anywhere". Lord cleared my doubts and I joined Believers and church fellowship. My Roman Catholic friends used to laugh at me and warned me that if I go to church, they will break their friendship with me. I being Muslim must go to Mosque. But I never went this way and experienced a power helping me openly. I was amazed with the incidents taking place in my life. I told my parents that I had joined Jesus Christ. My father took me to a Maulana (Muslim priest). He asked me and I showed him the defects in Muslim religion. He tried his level best but could not deter my path and he himself accepted that I am true in this way. I had left drinking and smoking habits too. I was baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit, The Father and the Son. I was very much busy in my job relating to computers. I met with a fatal Motorcycle accident on 17th Dec 2002. My motorcycle collided with a truck. I had severe head injuries. My motorcycle was badly damaged. The helmet was broken, the truck was also damaged. When consciousness came, I found that I had no injury mark on my body, my face was shining. It was our Lord, who saved me from a great accident. Nobody believed that I was living without any injury mark. I remained in Command Hospital for four months and regained my memory completely. Now I am waiting for His second coming. He has chosen me as said in John 15:16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you." Your ministry has kept me in prayer... My Liver results & HIV results are back and they are excellent! I have just heard this week from my Liver Specialist this report: * PRAISE GOD, my Hepatitis C viral level is UNDETECTABLE! After only 3 months of the 1 year of treatment; plus no signs of anemia! * And as an EXTRA Heavenly bonus---my HIV viral level is ALSO undetectable. Need continued prayers though as I must do nine more months of liver medication and both medications can build up a resistance and bring back viral levels... Meanwhile and always---GOD IS GOOD !!! Thank you Jesus!

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
