Many years back one day we received a telegram that our grandma passed away. She lived in Kerala (South India) and we lived in North India. As my dad could not get leave from his job and as we were in the middle of our school year, it was decided that mom would go alone. In our home all the cooking was being done by either servants or by my mom. So I and my elder sister had no experience of cooking except for a few things. While my mom was away, sometimes one dear old lady from our church who lived nearby brought some nice cooked meals for us. My sister is very fond of eating sweets. One day she said, “let us make saffron rice.” It is a tasty sweet dish which is often prepared for weddings or on special occasions in North India. I said, "OK", but soon curiously I asked, “what would we do for saffron color?” She thought for a moment and then she suggested, "we have turmeric power, we will add that." Without much experience of cooking and not knowing about the exact recipe, she started cooking. She added a few teaspoons of sugar and turmeric powder in the rice. Finally when it was cooked, it was not having sufficient sugar and because of the turmeric powder it tasted so bad that no one could eat it. One wrong ingredient, "turmeric" brought an awful taste in the sweet rice as well as a great deal of frustration we had to face.Over the years I have realized that if we wanted to have perfect, tasty dishes, we need to add the correct amount and correct ingredients. One wrong ingredient can spoil all the flavor and good taste of a particular dish. Today also many lives are broken, many homes are completely shattered. The reason is very simple. Many have married the wrong person. Many born again believers are also in the mess because they never tried to ask God whether that particular person is according to the will of God for them or not. Once I listen to a very nice message from a Jacobite Christian Orthodox priest. He based his message on the 6th chapter of Genesis and explained the verse Gen 6:2 which says, "that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose." He explained that "sons of God" are those who know God or those who are children of God who married whomever they liked and because of that the whole world was in chaos. Not only is it necessary to know the will of God before you marry someone but also it is necessary to know the will of God in every walk of your life. One wrong person in your life, one wrong decision of yours, or one wrong move can destroy everything. A few years back my brother trusted in one of his friends and gave him the key position in his company. But later on it was found that he cheated badly so that my brother had to lose a big amount of money and had to face frustration and chaos. That's what happens when you don't wait for the will of God and allow a wrong person to intervene in your life's matters.The Israelites were in the wilderness and were in great trouble because they despised the counsel of God and did not heed to the counsel of God. Bible says in Psa 107:11-12, "Because they rebelled against the words of God, And despised the counsel of the Most High, Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help." And in Psa 106:13, "They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel."Today you may want to make some important decisions in your life. Your decision will determine your future. Instead of taking a decision of your own or taking a counsel of men, look to God who can tell you what you have to do and what not He can precisely tell you which one is the correct and blessed decision for you.
According to Mark 3:14-15, we see that the purpose of the selection of disciples was that they should go and preach the gospel, heal the sick and cast out demons.Mark 3:14, Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,Mark 3:15 and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:When God calls a person for healing ministry, He calls that person for exactly the same reasons i.e. to preach the gospel, to heal the sick and to cast out demons and much more.Let us examine the life of Jesus and find out what His ministry was about.Matthew 4:23-25 says that Jesus preached the gospel and healed the sick. People with all kinds of sicknesses were brought to Jesus and Jesus healed all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.Mat 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.Mat 4:24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all the sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.Mat 4:25 Great multitudes followed Him; from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.In Jesus' ministry, lame walked, blind saw, deaf heard, mute spoke, dead were raised and many more healings took place. Where ever Jesus went, he healed the sick. Sick people were brought to him from far away places and were placed before Jesus for healing. He asked his disciples to do exactly the same thing. We read in Mark 6:7 that Jesus called his twelve disciples and gave them power over unclean spirits and sent them out. This is the power that casts out demons. When Jesus gave them power they had the power to heal the sick and cast out demons.Mark 6:7 And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits.Then we read further that the disciples went and preached the gospel of repentance, cast out demons and healed those who were sick.Mark 6:12, so they went out and preached that people should repent.Mark 6:13 and they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.Let us look at the ministry of the apostles after Jesus rose from the dead. Peter stood and preached to the multitudes the message of the gospel of repentance and 3000 were saved by his one message.Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."And signs and wonders followed. Not one or two but many wonders and signs were done through them.Acts 2:43 then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.In acts chapter 3 we read that when Peter went into the temple he commanded the man who was lame by birth to rise up and to walk and he rose up and walked.Acts 3:6, Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."In Acts 6:8 we read that God was using Stephen who was appointed to take care of serving the tables with wonders and signs. Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.Every single time when miracles, wonders and healings have been performed in Bible it is directly related to the power given by Lord Jesus Christ or by His Holy Spirit.Jesus promised that when Holy Spirit is come upon them, they should receive power.Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."It is highly impossible for a person to have healing ministry without Holy Spirit because Healing ministry operates by the power of the Holy Spirit through the gift of healing. Gift of healing is one of the gifts given by the Holy Spirit.It was in 1983-1984 that we got filled with the Holy Spirit and Lord called us for healing ministry in 1984. Since then Lord has used us in healing ministry in different levels. Every month we receive lots of prayer requests and many of them are for healing. People write with tears, "My dad is diagnosed with cancer please pray...." or "My mom is under going surgery please pray..." and many of those prayer requests we receive moves us with tears to pray for those requests. Many of them write back with in a few days rejoicing that Lord has healed them or their loved ones. Every time we read such letters it gives us joy that Lord has blessed one more person.In the past 7-8 years I have noticed that the maximum number of praise reports we received were of those couples who were married for 5 years, 7 years, 10 years and didn't have children. They had gone to doctors after doctors who didn't give them any hope. After we receive prayer requests and we pray, a few months latter we receive an email saying that they went to the doctor and doctor has confirmed that their first child is on the way. Every single miracle brings surprise to us and at the same time brings joy that our ministry has been a blessing to some one whom we have never seen, never met and whom we do not know personally, yet the Lord has performed a miracle. Many a times when we ourselves are going through tough times, every single such letter gives us encouragement to keep on praying for people so that they can be blessed.Why do I write all these things, it is only because, through this article Lord is calling some of you who are out there to come into healing ministry. Lord wants to fill you with His Holy Spirit and use you to heal the masses. He is calling a few young people to rise up and work great and mighty things for Him.When He selected the 12 disciples, his eyes were moving throughout the whole world to see who the best candidates are for the work. He didn't call people with ability but people with availability, people who are willing to hear His voice and obey. Are you willing to serve the Lord Jesus Christ exactly like He did His ministry when He was on the earth 2000 years back? If yes ask Him to use you and tell Him that you are willing.
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
