EDITORIAL
When the Whole world was paying homage to Princess Diana the news breaks up that mother Teresa is no more. When we look to her life, we can see in this shameless and loveless world she lived a uncompromised life and her life reflected the love and compassion of Christ. She sharpened her voice against homosexuality, abortion and other bad habits of the society. Yes, in this world people are longing for true love and they need a single touch of love and compassion. And Jesus did the same thing for us. He died on the cruel cross to save us from our sins and showed the unconditional love as Bible says in Rom 5:7 -8 "For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Bible also says in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1John 1:7 "and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." He took all our sins on the cross and died behalf of us to give us the eternal life. And because of His death on the cross we have a hope. Many times we take all these things as silly things but have you ever thought about the destination of your life. where we will go After death? This is a big question in which we have to think in this life itself. We have to determine our destination in this life itself. Many times I was asked through emails and IM that why I am publishing only life stories of Indians. I can say because I am an Indian and came here only last year but this time I am publishing a life story of Karen. When you read this testimony may God bless you.
From darkness to light

I was raised in a Christian family. My grandparents lived in Florida as I was growing up and to this day I can remember letters from them, telling me to keep living for Jesus. No other advice could have possibly brought me to the point in my walk with the Lord as those kinds and well thought out words. My brother is a Pastor and a well-anointed man of God. My mom and sister, next to the Lord have always been my support. They have lifted my life up to God and now I serve Him. Now that is how I know God answers prayers. I have stepped out of Gods direction for my life many, many times. I used to say God was not with me at this time in my life, but after surrendering my life to the Lord completely, Matthew 1:23 became very evident; "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel," which means, "God with us." God was with me, I just did not choose to allow Him to be ruler of my life. I did not choose to allow Him to be my best friend. He was holding my hand but I kept letting go. He was telling me He wanted to be first in my life, but I was telling myself, He did not need to be. I could still live in the world and proclaim to love and serve God because I went to church at least once in a while. I read my bible at least once in a while. I even spent time in prayer, every now and then. At age 20, I was spending much time experimenting with alcohol, cocaine and marijuana. I had no fear. I would drive with alcohol and marijuana in my system and have no fear. To this day, I have scratches on the top of my car from when I ran into chains thinking it was a clear driveway. At that time I did not see the lives that I could have destroyed. Now stop and think is there an "Immanuel." If God was not with me, I would have destroyed more than just my life! I gave up my virginity at the age of 20; and I will not go into any more details on that. But I will say that God was with me, I was spared from danger to my body and a child. I would go back to thinking, I was serving God. You know the going to church, reading my bible, praying every now and then. But God had not changed my life yet. I got involved with people I thought were my friends. I wanted to be like them. Now we were made in the image of God, not our friends. Anyway, I have a large tattoo on my left leg; that is about the size of my hand. I did not see what the big deal was. It was beautiful. You have never seen such beautiful artwork in your life. The color, the art, my how nice. At least that is what I thought. My mom, sister and even my dad who never says anything were astonished. They could not believe it. They said they did not want me to sit with them in church. They were ashamed of me. My brother, who is the pastor, was speechless. My family apologized quickly after the shock wore off. They had said thing they knew was not appropriate for somebody so lost in the world. I pulled even further away from God becoming bitter. Knowing I had let Him down, I could not go back! Mom and sister kept praying and God answered prayer. My pastor came to my house and spoke with me. I was still not convinced, God had forgiven me though. Not just for the tattoo, but for what the tattoo represented. That being the world. We are to live our life, holy. We are not to cause anybody to stumble. Our body is a temple of God! How could I be forgiven? I lost an opportunity to witness to many lost souls because of this. I rededicated my life in November of 1996. I have never been the same since. I have such hunger and fulfillment. I quit smoking, November 5, 1996. I was regenerated by the Holy Spirit, December 3, 1996. At that point I was delivered from the worry of my tattoo. I am now able to use that for a tool, for God but telling people, "this is what happened to me when I was living in the world. This is what I was delivered from, and I don't want to go back." I have my own visible scar, to remind me of my past. But God lets me know what my future holds. Up to that point, I was not sure God had forgiven me for all I had done. At that point God let me know, I serve Him. It doesn't matter if others judge me for He is my only Judge! Praise the Lord for that! God continues to fill me with spiritual gifts. All I had to do is surrender. I lift my life up to Him. My life is not mine, but was given to God. He is my Savior, my Best Friend, my Lord! Yes, I still get down once in a while, but that is usually because I have lost focus on my Savior. I let that time bring me closer to God and spend time with Him! May God enrich each your life.
Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 9th Sep. 2008
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 9th Sep. 2008
