By Sherly Isaac

Exo 27:20 "And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.

In the above verse we read that God commanded to bring pure oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps could burn continually before God. How important it is that the light would not go off anytime but it should continually burn before God.

God wants to make us lamps that burn day and night and give light. Jesus Christ is the true Light who came down in this world to take us away from darkness. John 1:9, "That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world." And the Bible says in Matthew 4:16, "The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned." When a person invites Jesus in his/her life the true Light comes in and removes darkness, sin, death, and evil. Jesus was crushed to death, He was bruised for our iniquity, He was wounded for our transgressions, He was chastised for our peace and He was beaten for our healing. His death on the cruel cross was for us so that we could be delivered from all darkness.

God does not want us to live in darkness, but He wants us to come in light and live a good life. Once you have received the light, it is your duty to keep the light burning day and night continuously. If you want that your lamp could burn continually before God, then you need the pure oil. Pure oil represents Holy Spirit. If you want to continue in the salvation you have received when you accepted Jesus Christ, you need the fullness of Holy Spirit so that your lamp could burn continually.

In Matthew 25th chapter we read a parable spoken by Jesus. Jesus compared foolish and wise virgins. Five of them were wise who took oil in their vessels with their lamps but the foolish virgins did not take additional oil with their lamps. When they heard that the bridegroom is coming, they woke up and trimmed their lamps, but the foolish virgins found that their lamps were going out. So they went to buy oil, but by that time the bridegroom came and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding, and the door was shut. Later on the foolish virgins came and knocked at the door saying, "Lord, Lord, open to us!" But it was too late for them. He answered and said, '"Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."

Jesus tried to tell us through this parable that the foolish virgins did not have sufficient oil in their lamps, in other words, they did not have fullness of the Holy Spirit in them, that is, they were not prepared to meet the bridegroom at the last moment. The reason was very simple; they did not care to fill their lamps with oil everyday. They did not care to walk in the Spirit everyday. Very often people think that if a person is saved, he/she can live as they want and finally God will take them to heaven. But it is not true. Once saved is not always saved. You have to strive everyday to do the will of God and live a holy life before God. Let our lamps be burning day and night so that Son of Man could find us worthy to attend His wedding. Let we be filled with the Holy Spirit everyday.

My dear friend, check your lives and see whether your lamps are burning properly or not? If not, it is high time to make your lamps right with God.

Celebrating 6th Birthday

How glad I am to tell you that six years have rolled by and it seems as if it is just yesterday that we started this magazine. "In Search of Peace" Magazine was started on 17th July 1997. God helped us all these years and made this magazine a great success. Today it is available in English and also in Malayalam. Of those who were reading the magazine, many were touched and many got blessings through it. All glory and honor belongs to God.

Last year, God did some remarkable miracles in the lives of people and I am publishing one of it again along with some of the mails we received last year.

Wow!! what an incredible miracle

Pastor Paul Ciniraj Mohammed, a Muslim convert to Christianity who is working among Muslims and Hindus in South India, because of his faith in Christ had to face so many persecutions, but God protected him and his family from terrible tragedy. Here is the thrilling miracle which took place in his life.

On 7th Sep. 2002 he got an email saying, "BELIEVE ALLAH IS ONE; MUHAMMAD (pbuh) IS HIS MATCHLESS PROPHET.
Siniraj Muhammed, You're against the religion of peace. You propagate vulgar mission. You are not only a "Kafir", but an enemy of the truth. Be careful. You're going to loose your loved ones. And you'll live without having legs and arms as a sign for those who destroy the true religion."

Pastor Paul contacted us and a few other believers for immediate prayers. Despite all these prayers, things went wrong and all his three kids had to be hospitalized. On 9th Sep. 2002, he wrote, "My children, Besly (elder son, 13 years old), Hepzy (daughter, 12 years old), and Lesly (younger son, 8 years old) came back from the school with a severe vomiting. They are admitted in the hospital. Doctors think some food adulteration. The children are very weak and tired, so we did not ask what exactly happened. Kindly pray for them. THOUGH HE SLAY ME, YET WILL I TRUST IN HIM; BUT I WILL MAINTAIN MY OWN WAYS BEFORE HIM" (Job 13:15)"

Later that day they found out that on the way to school, Besly, Hepzy and Lesly were given poison by a woman. He wrote like this in his email, "Thank you so much for your sincere and tearful prayers for my children Besly, Hepzy and Lesly. By God's grace they are getting better. They came out from the observation room. The whole night we were asleep, knelt down before the Lord and waiting at the hospital. The Holy Spirit strengthened me and my wife with a wonderful power, and we're quiet sure that came through your prayers.

My children were coming back home from the school by a public transport bus. They used to come and go by bus only. The bus was thick with travelers and other students. A middle-aged woman was sitting on a seat. As soon as she saw my children, she smiled at them, called them by name and made arrangements to seat the youngest one at her bosom and other two beside her. On the way she inquired about our family as a well-wisher. She said to the children that she is one of the prayer partners of our mission; and that we (Mercy and myself along with the children) had stayed with her family some time back and that she is always praying for us. My children did not remember whether they met her before.

When it was time for the children to get down from the bus, she supplied them with chocolates as a token of love. She herself took out the wrapper and forced them to eat. My children are very fond of chocolates. So they were happy to get it.

As soon as they got down from the bus, the younger one began to vomit suddenly and then the elder one too, then the daughter. They lost their chocolates when they vomited. Somebody who went on that way saw this and they brought the children home soon. By this time the younger son fainted. We were afraid. But prayed to God and took them to the hospital.

Doctors found poison in their saliva and gave the exact treatment in time. If we were late even by two or three minutes..... ? Praise God. He protected us mightily as the apple of His eyes. He answered our prayers. Thank you again for your prayers. Now they are OK. They are God's children. LET HIM DO WHAT HE WANTS.

We searched for that woman. But nobody knows her. We reported to the police. I don't think the hospital is safe. And I don't know what to do next. Please pray that God Himself take care of us according to His will.

I again request you this time to pray for me and my family as well as our pastors and evangelists who are ministering with us and their families, the new believers and the seekers. EVERYBODY NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS VERY BADLY."

Next day on 10th Sep. 2002 we got very disturbing email from Pastor Paul Ciniraj saying that his daughter Hepzy is in critical condition. He wrote in his email that, "Please pray for my daughter HEPZY. At the daytime she was all right. She is having a sudden change after the evening. She is unable to breathe properly. She wants to talk; but cannot. She is loosing her memory power. According to the doctors, poison might have affected her lungs.

Please...please...please pray for my daughter. Our Lord will not make His children ashamed before the scoffers and heathens. He is the Lord of miracles. By His stripes we have healing. Let His precious blood be poured on her lungs. Let His nailed hands touch her whole body. May our Lord forgive the one who did this. By God's grace both boys are OK. My wife is upset. Pray for me too, that God may strengthen me to suffer anything. LET HIS WILL BE DONE."

Hapzy's condition worsened and she went into coma. But the almighty God looked at the tears of His people and did mighty miracle in the life of Hapzy.

On the same day while we were on family prayer, God's mighty power came upon us and He told us that, "When you will pray for people, instant miracles will take place. "We claimed the promise of God and asked for a miracle. My brother also replied him back quoting, Psalms 34:19, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all."

On 11th Sep. 2002, Pastor Paul wrote again sharing the mighty miracle which took place in his life. He wrote, "My 12 year old daughter Hepzy was unconscious for about 30 hours. Myself, my wife Mercy, our boys Besly and Lesly knelt down before our Lord around her bed and were praying full of tears. My sons had recovered; and were with us in the same room. We were sure that hundreds of the children of God like you were praying for Hepzy with tears at that time..

When we were praying we saw Hepzy's face became very bright. Though her eyes were closed, she smiled full of Joy. Quickly she lifted her hands up and was trying to catch something. We felt assured that she is departing from us. My wife and children cried aloud. I tried to control; but couldn't. Doctors and nurses who were on duty rushed into the room hearing our cries. Doctor was attempting to check her pulse. But before he was checking the pulse Hepzy got up automatically from the bed. Her hands were up and we clearly felt that she was holding something in the space. She was calling "YESHU APPACHAA...., YESHU APPACHAA...." in our mother tongue. (Yeshu=Jesus; Appacha=Abba). Then she opened her eyes. She looked into her hands with amazement, then looked up to the space, again to the hands and fingering a point, said: "AVIDE YESHU APPACHAN!" (where is Abba Jesus). I hold her hands and called her by name. Without any problem she recognized all of us. She realized that she is in the hospital. It was about 1 O'clock at midnight.

She wanted to eat something. So doctor checked her thoroughly and asked us to feed her something light. She is having little temperature. Doctor prescribed a tablet and she had it. Before she went to the bed we praised our Lord together. Hepzy praised the Lord and prayed with new power.. PRAISE THE LORD! OUR GOD IS THE LORD OF MIRACLES! LIVING GOD! MIGHTY SAVIOUR!

Now Hepzy is taking rest. Mercy, Besly and Lesly are with her. I came home to convey this miraculous news of our Mighty Lord who answered the prayers of precious and spirit filled children of God like yourself for Hepzy and gave her life back for His glorification. Please pray that our Lord may make use of her as His witness to win many unto His fold..

No! I will never turn back from the Lord. At any cost winning the Muslim world and the third world unto the Salvation of Jesus is my ultimate aim. Death may embrace me. Doesn't matter! For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain..

Once again thank you for your valuable prayers and timely sending the messages of encouragement. We have only few people praying for us and asking our whereabouts in which you are one. I will never forget it. May God give you reward and bless you, your family, your colleagues and your ministry. We always will be remembering you in our prayers..

Yours friend and brother
Bro. Paul Ciniraj,

We praise God with Bro. Paul Ciniraj and family for His mighty deeds and protection of His children.

I am very glad that I was put on your mailing list several years ago. You are the last christian group that I am recieving regular mailings from, well that isn't exactly true, but the last theology group. I am impressed with your faith and love. I find so many christians that are so hateful of Jews. I do know that in India you are much more attuned to the Muslim menace facing the world today, the Hindu's are more likely to be targeted there, but so much of the world seems to be unaware that Islamists are murdering all other religions in whatever part of the world they exist is numbers that can sustain open warfare. I cannot understand the constant criticism of Israel, when they are faced with daily murder by Islamists. Thank you so much for your help.

I have come to the conclusion that our faith has been severely distorted by the hate of Jews that invaded the church since the second century and that if we continue to ignore the Hebrew scripture the church will continue to disintegrate. We need to re-establish the church's relationship with Judaism if we are to ever truely understand scripture. I am so tired of haters who claim to have the 'truth'. Thanks for your good works. I am appreciative beyond my ability to express.

I have been greatly blessed by this story of Gulshan Esther and I have anxiously waited and read all the 15 parts that come in every Friday. The story is very challenging and so inspiring and I have also printed and shared those portions to my office mates. Indeed our God is good and great. He is a faithful God who takes care of us when He calls us. He is a God who heals and who never fails us.
I thank God for Gulshan that even through the many trials she went through she remained strong in the Lord and trusted in His provision. I have been greatly blessed about this story and have learnt a lot in my Christian my day to day Christian living.
God bless you

Our pappa got healed. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord Jesus. Our pappa is now able to read medium size letters. Doctors thoroughly checked him and they scanned his head three times. And they did not find any damage between brain and retina. Even they did not find any symptoms of damaged nerve. Doctor said it is a miracle. We believe that Lord Jesus touched our pappa. All these things happened on the last day of our fasting when his head hit on a pillar in the hospital. We believe that Jesus touched him and healed him the same day. Praise the Lord. Again we thank you for your prayers for our pappa, for our mummy, for me, for my brother and sister.
Praise the Lord Jesus.

Hello brothers and sisters,
I'd like to tell you how good I feel reading News Letter. I live in Brazil, a country where there are thousands of Evangelicals Churches, but some of Christians do not know how our brothers, in other countries, live and work for the Lord and his Kingdom. Some months ago I met a man (an engineer from Bombay in India) and we talked about our lives. I told him I was Christian (Evangelical) and what I believe and trust... so he told me about thousands of gods from India and about the one he trusted.... I really felt upset... How such an intelligent man like that could believe those things???????

He works in a ship and returned to his country but I kept disturbed.... Then I searched for information about Christians and churches in India... when I found your site and read all you've done ... how people have accepted Jesus... how God's Word is proclaimed... I felt so happy!!!!!! thanks for that. Now I know my friend has a chance to know Jesus, his love and salvation.

I'm sure Jesus loves you all and the purpose of this newsletter... so do I !!!May God bless you all,

Tolerance Theology

By Sheela Isaac

Love and Tolerance are the very prominent words of today's Christian circle. People practice sin freely and use these words for their own benefit. They say, "Jesus taught us to love one another. Jesus taught us to forgive others. So let us practice that love. That is why they say, "Don't judge anybody since no one is perfect, ignore other's fault because all do some mistakes."

Well, Jesus did not teach us to love sin. Jesus did not ask us to tolerate sin. I do not find such teachings in Bible, but today our Churches are preaching and teaching such theories. Jesus said, "Love sinners but hate sin." That is why when Jesus met with the Samaritan woman, He confronted her directly with her sin. He asked, "Go get your husband." She said, "I have no husband." Jesus said, "You are right. You have had 5 husbands and now you are living with the 6th one and he is not your husband."

John 4:16, Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here."
John 4:17, The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have well said, 'I have no husband,'
John 4:18 "for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly."

If you read the whole story of the Samaritan woman, you can understand that you cannot get blessings of God by living in sin. Jesus showed her that she is in sin. This story tells us that Samaritan woman had to repent and turn around from her sins to get the living water (Holy Spirit). Confession and repentance is the only way to reach God. Another incident we find in Bible where Jesus heals the sick man of 38 years who was at the pool of Bethesda. He says, "Go sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you." Jesus says the same thing to the woman caught up in adultery, "Go sin no more" (John 8:11). I don't see any tolerance towards sin in any of these instances. Jesus does not teach to tolerate sin or to love sin.

John 5:14, Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you."

You cannot play tricks with God and still think that all is well. Many are involved in witchcraft, murder and in many other kinds of activities, may be not directly, but still they think that God is with them. Still they think that they are saved. You cannot fool God. Jesus knows what you are doing in secret. If you do not repent and get rid of those sins it will surely destroy your soul in hell fire.

Al-right today our Churches are practicing the tolerance theology for their own gain. That's how our Churches are ruining. I heard that a survey of Presbyterian Church indicated that 60% people don't believe that "Jesus is the only way to heaven." What a tragedy!! Today our Churches are allowing Divorce, homosexuality and Abortion as legal, though Bible is totally against such practices. Where are we heading? Where are our Churches going today? It's a great question mark. Recently I heard that Churches of Ontario, Canada and some other cities have made the gay marriages legal. And many such marriages are taking place in Churches. What a shame. Today our Churches are more tolerant toward sin rather than observing holiness.

Recently I read in Chicago Tribune News paper July 9, 2003 edition about a gay Choir director. Here are some excerpts from that article.

---------Quote Chicago Tribune---------
The new choir director was one of the best things that ever happened to Holy Family Catholic Church. Everyone said so.............until last month, when church officials learned he is gay.

A lawyer and two priests confronted Bill Stein on June 17 and asked him to renounce his partner of 10 years, Stein said, When he refused, they fired him.
--------Un Quote----------

I can say Church did the right thing in the light of the Bible because he was not ready to get rid of this sin. Bible speaks very clearly against homosexuality. Gen 13:13 But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD. Why they were exceedingly wicked and sinful in the sight of God. Reason is that they were homosexuals. (Gen 19:4-5)

Jude 1:7 as Sodom and Gomorra, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Now what was the reaction of the congregation of the gay choir director? You may wonder to know that the people of this congregation were supporting this man though it is totally against Bible and God. Here are some of those comments:

--------Quote Chicago Tribune July 12 2003---------
As a young Catholic, I am disgusted by the Rockford church's firing of choir director.... If the Catholic Church does not stop alienating people who are such important contributors to the vitality of the church simply because of sexual orientation there will be no one left to support the church. Shame on the Diocese of Rockford.

Church hypocrisy --- I was absolutely dumbfounded by the actions of the Holy family Roman Catholic church...........

Personally I think it is the height of hypocrisy for right-wing homophobes to attack the "gay lifestyle"............
-----------Un Quote------------

All these comments clearly show that people, even churchgoers do not know what is correct and what is not correct according to Bible. Today all the problems we see in our society are mostly created by the tolerance policy of our churches. You may wonder to know that most of the people who speak about ignoring sin and loving and tolerating others are not saved people. They themselves don't care about the teachings of Jesus. They themselves live in sin and filthiness. So they think that nobody can lead a holy life.

Last week I was hearing the message in our Church. Our pastor said, "Those who are accommodating and adjusting with other people are mature Christians." He meant that those who are able to adjust with the sins of Pastor and others are mature Christians. If Pastor is cursing people from pulpit you must accommodate with those views. If pastor is forcefully asking money you should be able to adjust with that. If pastor is telling hundreds of lies you must be able to ignore it. If pastor is going house-to-house and spreading false rumors about you, you must know how to adjust with that. If you fail to do that, you are not a mature christian. I never read that Bible teaches something like that.

I heard that on the Sunday previous to that of last week also a member of our Church preached the very same message. I am glad that she was at least agreeing (accommodating) with the views of pastor. So she must be a 'Mature Christian' in the eyes of Pastor. What kind of a preacher are you? People pleasing, Pastor pleasing or God pleasing? Recently, many Guest speakers came to our church to preach. They all preached the messages which pleased our pastor, that is, dictated to them by pastor. Some preached, "if you stand against pastor you will die." Our pastor had many times previously preached the same curse pronouncing messages from the pulpit. In my whole life I have never heard anybody cursing the congregation from pulpit like this.

Last year I had a chance to preach in my church. The said pastor visited my house several times to dictate to me what to preach. He said, "this church is like this, these people are like these, so and so are great drinkers, our youths are very bad, girls are going with Muslim boys, boys are bringing their girl friends to their parent's house to stay with them and blah...blah...blah... I said in my heart, "forget it, you cannot dictate to me, I am not a pastor pleaser." Well, I never preached a single message, which comes out of my head. So I prayed to the Lord to know what to preach. I prayed for several days and even fasted to know the heart of God. The message I got was entirely different. God said, "Many prophets will rise up from this church." This call was especially for young people. Whatever God spoke I preached in my church. Next week the said Pastor came to our house and said, "you should have not preached that way, I thought you will share your testimony, you know none of our youth are saved, then how can you give a call for ministry." Well I said, look pastor I do not preach what I hear from people but I hear from God what to preach and what not. What I did was correct. I am here to please my master (Jesus) not anybody else.

Well if you are a preacher you must know how to please God. Today many are preaching the messages, which pleases their congregation. If somebody from congregation says, "we don't want to hear salvation (Pentecostal) messages, they start preaching the opposite messages that all are saved and everybody is going to heaven. If somebody says that our agenda is feeding the poor and so on, they'll start preaching that kind of messages. What kind of a preacher are you? Congregation pleaser or God pleaser? Today our churches have become a place of wrong teachings. They teach entirely opposite messages of what Bible teaches. How long this tolerance will go on? As long as these things prevail in our churches, church will never grow.

Now let's see quickly who the "Mature Christians" are according to the Bible. Before we go to this topic let's find out who the Christians are? There are two kinds of Christians in every congregation.
1. Nominal Christians
2. True Christians

1. Nominal Christians:
People who are born in Christian homes having christian names and are members of the church but do not have any personal relationship with Jesus are called nominal Christians. They go to church regularly, but they have nothing to do with Christ. They live a life as any other sinners. They do all kinds of things, which look good according to the world.

2. True Christians:
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

According to these verses, those who are washed by the blood of Jesus and whose sins are forgiven by God are the children of God. They are true Christians. And maturity theory can apply to only this group of people.

Now let's see who the mature Christians are. In very short way I can say:
1. Who are walking in the ways of God means who are leading a holy life.
2. Those who are always alert to keep their White Garment spotless, those who are constantly trying to excel in their holiness.
3. Those who do not quit in the middle, when problems and trials come, when storms rage against them in the middle, but stick on with Jesus all the time.

I will try to explain it in detail next time. May God help you to become a mature Christian.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
