By Sherly Isaac

Joseph Stalin - a man who was the communist leader of USSR who killed many and terrorized many. Once I read about him that his policy was to show so much love to a person that he might lean on his chest and when he leans on his chest then stab him with knife from the back. Betrayal and double standard!! Betraying the same person who trusted and put his complete faith on you. From outside showing love but on the other side doing all the mischief. One of my cousins always said that, "Those who speak very sweetly and those who show so much love, be careful of them. Because most of them show the love and sweetness from outside but reality is far far away from that."

Not only we may find these types of people around us but also in our Churches wearing the mask of hypocrisy. Many Churches have forgotten the roots and the basic teachings of Christianity. They are mixing pagan traditions with Christianity. The same alter where the message of Jesus Christ is preached are very often used for pagan dances and to sing movie songs that do not glorify the name of Jesus Christ. Many Christian girls wear "Bindi" on her forehead thinking it is a modern day fashion. Many do not know that it is a significance of declaring Shiva (Hindu god) as their husband. By wearing the Bindi they are declaring that they are married to Shiva.

How sad it is that we are mixing different cultures but Jesus warned this type of things to seven Churches in Revelation 2nd and 3rd chapters. To the church of Ephesus He says, "I know your labor, hard work, patience. Even you have discernment to know whether a prophet is from God or not but still you have left your first love." They did not love God as they should be. And to the church in Pergamos He says, "That they fast to God's name and do not deny His faith but still they were doing few things which was not according to God's will." In Rev 2:14 He says, "But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality." He goes on telling these type of things about seven Churches. And while warning to them, He also told them to repent and turn from their evil ways so that they may get God's blessings and enter into heaven.

Today where do we stand? Jesus is coming to take His bride - the glorious church, which has no spot or wrinkle but is holy and without blemish. When Jesus comes will He find us without spot and wrinkle? If not, it is high time to throw away the mask of hypocrisy from our lives and from our churches and turn to God. It is high time to be right with God.

400 American Jews returned to Israel

By Vinod Isaac

While UN report clears Israel from the allegations of massacre in Zenin. And Jerusalem is attacked again by two bombings. Last month 400 American Jews returned to Israel. Russians Jews are already returning from Russia and more than 1 Million are already in Israel. Jews from UK are thinking of returning to Israel. Why would these people from peaceful lands go to a place of unrest? Why would these people from lands where there is plenty and there is peace go to a place where there is chaos, bombings, blood shed and problems? Answer is simple "Promise of God" and the unfailing "Word of God"

There is a two-fold promise for Jews.
1.) They will return to the Land that is promised by God
2). They will return to the Lord.

Jer 23:3, "But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

Isa 10:20, “And it shall come to pass in that day That the remnant of Israel, And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, Will never again depend on him who defeated them, But will depend on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth”.
Isa 10:21, “The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, To the Mighty God”.
Isa 10:22, “For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, A remnant of them will return; The destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness”.

What does it all indicate 1). Jesus' Second Coming is near. 2.) It is sure that Jesus is going to come back without fail as it is written in the Word.

When you talk about Jesus' return there are three kinds of people.

First group of People who try to find the exact time of when Jesus is going to return.

Biblical prophecies are not given to know the time and date of Jesus' return so every time they predict something they fail. Jesus said it very clearly in Mat 24:36, Mark 13:31 and Luke 21:34 that no one will be able to know the date and the time of His coming

Mat 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
Mark 13:32 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Luke 21:34 "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.

Second Group of People are those who say since nobody can know when Jesus is going to come so why bother about it or it is sin to even talk about the signs of the second coming.
Jesus answers many of these things Himself. If you read just few verses above the verses that say that no body will be able to know the time or date you find Jesus giving a command to disciples in Luke 21:28, Luke 21:31, Mark 13:14, Mark 13:29, Mat 24:15, Mat 24:33 all have one common thing "when you see" or "when these things begin to happen" do something or know some thing. So second group of people are also not following what Jesus said.

Luke 21:28 "Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."
Luke 21:31 "So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
Mark 13:14 "So when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let the reader understand), "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
Mark 13:29 "So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near; at the doors!
Mat 24:15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
Mat 24:33 "So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near; at the doors!

Third group of people are those who don't believe in second coming.
They say people are saying from 2000 years and still nothing happened. Or say that earthquake and floods are not increasing but only because of television it looks increasing. So second coming is all funny stories.

Exactly to them Jesus said in Luke 21:34 that the day will come on them as a snare.

Luke 21:34 "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.
Luke 21:35 "For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Now to the earth quakes. Did you know that statistical records show an increasing number of earthquakes? In 1970 total 4139 earthquakes are recorded in official records while in 2001 23613 (4 times) are recorded. Yes it is a possibility that these earthquakes may have been occurring but because of the latest technology more of them are coming to notice. But what it takes for the panic? That these earthquakes happen in public places instead of rural places when that happens it brings devastation.

Even if Earthquakes are not increasing that's not a problem read Mat 24:6-8 it just says "you will hear" so latest technology is bringing it more and more to our hearing and may bring more for us to hear.

Mat 24:6 "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
Mat 24:8 "All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Fourth group of people are those who track the events and try to make sense of those events from Biblical Prophecy. They try to look at the event as Jesus had commanded.

And one of the events is returning of the remnant from all over the world. That is what we started talking with that Jews are returning to violence stricken land. It has a major significance in the second coming of Jesus.

Most of the "when you see" Phrase Jesus used in the illustration of fig tree. Israel is that fig tree.
Mat 24:32 "Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
Mat 24:33 "So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near; at the doors!

Israel became a nation in 1948 it is beginning to put forth it's leaves. Not only that Mat 24:15 depends on rebirth of Israel and building of Solomon's temple.
Mat 24:15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),

When you see the "abomination of desolation" that is Daniel 9:27 the antichrist. It has to happen in the holy place that means the Solomon's Temple. Jews are ready to rebuild the temple on temple mount. They have made the preparations they have selected the Levites to be the priests. Red Heifer is being prepared for the sacrifices. Isn't it amazing that if Dan 9:27 has to be fulfilled the sacrifices and offering must start before the "abomination of desolation" and the preparation for sacrifices show only one thing that Dan 9:27 and Mat 24:15 is not very far.

Dan 9:27, “Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate."

So these people who keep track of events and study from Biblical Prophecy are the blessed people because they obey their Master. Rev 1:3 confirms these blessings. It says blessed is who read, who hear and keep the things written in Revelation. If you want these blessings start reading revelation, start hearing the Prophecies and begin to keep the things written.

Rev 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Jesus said when you see these things happening lift up your heads because your redemption is near.
Luke 21:28 "Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."

Are you sure that this day will bring redemption to you? Only those who are washed by the blood of Jesus will be redeemed. Because only the blood of Jesus redeems a person as it is in Rev 5:9.
Rev 5:9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

If you think Jesus returns today and you are not ready. You can become ready by asking the Lord Jesus to cleanse you with His blood. You can repeat this prayer from the bottom of your heart.

Lord Jesus I know I am a sinner. Please forgive me of my sins. Please wash me clean with your blood that you shed on the Calvary's cross. Please come into my heart. Become my savior and Lord. Please take control of my life. In Jesus name I ask. Amen

Help is on the way

By Sherly Isaac

I was working in an office. It was Christmas season so one of my colleague and my manager was on leave. I was doing my colleague's work also. One day I had to send some payments to few companies. So I went to the account section and asked the accountant to make few checks. She made it and gave it to me. I checked that amount is correct so I put in a mailer and went to the mailroom and entered in computer to send the mail and got the computerized receipts of it.

I just returned from mailroom and was just settled in my chair, the accountant came running to me and said, hey, did you send the mails? I said, yes, I send it to the mailroom. Oh, she said, "I forgot to sign in one of the checks, can you please bring it back?" I said OK. I brought it back and she opened the mailer and signed the check. Meanwhile the mailer was spoiled so I had no idea what to do now because I had receipt as I already sent the mail. I asked my assistant manager that if he could help me? But he said, "I do not have any idea how to cancel the previous order." So I went to one of the manager in office and asked if she could help me? She made few calls and finally hanged the receiver. She smiled and said, "Help is on the way" as one of the woman from account section was coming to help me. How soothing and relieving those words were, "Help is on the way". She came and helped me to cancel the previous order.

Psalmist says in Psalms 46:1-3, "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling."

You may be going through terrible problems and you may be thinking that, "Who will help me in this situation?" My dear friend, God can help you, no matter what situation you may be facing. He is a very present help in trouble.

Joseph went through terrible problems in his life. When he was a little boy, he lost his mother. His own brothers hated him, put him in a pit and later sold him. He reached to Egypt where he served Potiphar as servant in his home. But soon he was thrown into jail for no reason. How his heart might have broken. He might have shed bitter tears. But the Bible says that God was with him and made him prosperous. Later we read that Joseph who was a slave in a foreign land and was in jail had no hope of any better future but God took him out of the jail and made him a ruler over that land.

God can do the same for you. What He did for Joseph, what He did for psalmist, He will do for you. Look to Him, He is ready to help you in your trouble.

Crucifixion of flesh

By Sheela Isaac

When you look in the life of many who claim themselves to be saved even spirit filled you can find that they are living in sin. Many are saved but their life does not show any difference than others (worldly persons). They are practicing the same things as others (unsaved). They are living in same sins as others (unsaved). When you talk to people they say, “we do not want to become spiritual, because if we will not be able to walk in God’s ways it is more dangerous than being carnal.” Somebody once said, “I know some people who look spiritual, they are saved and Spirit filled but their life is not holy, I could live a better life than them.”

Why these types of questions arise in one’s mind? Reason is very simple, we Christians fail in our own walk and life. We fail to show the real Christ to others. We fail to become a good spiritual Christian. We have compromised with world and worldly people. We forgot that if we are spiritual we should behave in a spiritual manner. How many times we fail in our life and holy walk. We blame others but forget to examine our own life.

We preach about Biblical things, but many times we fall short in that goal. Don’t we? Why? Because we fail to obey God fully, we do not bother to lead a holy life. We do not worry to do the things, which Bible describes. That’s why Bible says about crucifixion of carnal desires. As long as we stay carnally, as long as we try to live a worldly life, as long as we try to fulfill our fleshly desires, we will stay in sin.

If you want to lead a holy life, which is according to Bible and God, you must know that you have to get rid of worldly things. Bible says that no one can please two masters. Mat 6:24, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon”.

You cannot serve God and still live in sin; you cannot live in God’s camp and still enjoy the worldly pleasures. Both cannot go together.

People who tried to live in both areas together failed miserably and perished. People who thought that little sin and God would go together were destroyed. Bible says in Rom 8:8 and 8:13
Rom 8:8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Rom 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die.

Today many have wrong notions about spirituality. Some think that:
1. Once saved is saved forever.
2. Old Testament days had sever punishment but now in New Testament days we are under grace so little sin is ok.
3. Nobody can lead a perfect and holy life so little sin is ok.

1. Once saved is saved forever
Let me clarify it “Once saved is not saved forever.” Look in the Bible you will find many, who were saved but could not reach upto the final face. Many were saved and spirit filled but they missed the final destiny i.e. heaven. Nowhere in Bible you find that “Once saved is saved forever”. I don’t know from where these types of theories came in.

If we read in Bible Saul was an anointed king. He was called among the prophets, but he could not reach heaven. He backslided and finally lost everything. Bible says Holy Spirit (Spirit of God) left him. What could be horrible than this? 1 Sam, 16:14, “But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him”.

Look at another verse, which says, “don’t grieve Holy Spirit” because your redemption is dependent upon Holy Spirit.
Eph 4:30, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption”. Saul lost Holy Spirit what else could have saved him. Nothing!!!

We read in Old and New Testament about many people who have fallen and even lost their place in heaven. Judas Iscariot, Ananias and Sapphira King Solomon, Balaam etc. are the greatest examples for that.

Don’t stay confused. Let not satan fool you. Once saved is not saved forever, but you need to work hard to keep your salvation till the end. Work hard, stay holy, try to live a holy life as much as possible and protect your crown of life.
Mat 10:22, "…. But he who endures to the end will be saved”.
Mat 24:12, "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold”. Mat 24:13, "But he who endures to the end shall be saved”.

This said verse says clearly lawlessness will abound but you are intended to stay holy and not to participate in evil deeds. You must endure till the end if you want the crown of life.

Next let us find answers of other questions.
2. “Old Testament days had sever punishment but now in New Testament days we are under grace so little sin is ok”. Do you think it is ok to live in sin because we are in grace period? No

Rom 6:14, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace”.
Rom 6:15, “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!”
Rom 6:16, “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?”

Rom 6:16 says, whom you present yourselves slaves to obey; you are that one’s slave. If you live in Sin you are the slave of sin and Satan. Bible says sin leads to death. But if you lead a holy life, righteousness will lead you to life i.e. eternal life.

3. Nobody can lead a perfect and holy life so little sin is ok.
1 Pet 1:16, “because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." Jesus said ‘be holy, for I am holy.” Why did He say that? Did He not know that holiness is not possible? Are we smarter than God?

Holiness is possible. “It is hard but not impossible”.
How to achieve holiness? Let’s see 3 things to achieve holiness.
1. Salvation
2. Anointing of the Holy Spirit
2. By holy walk

1. Salvation: This is the main key to receive holiness. If you are not saved you can never lead a holy life. It is impossible to lead a holy life without the blood of Jesus. When Blood of Jesus comes upon once heart, he/she becomes a child of God. This experience called “Born again” or born from above i.e. new birth. This is the first and main step toward holiness. Here begins the process of holiness.

When I got saved on 3rd Nov 1981 till then I had a feeling that I am a good person. I was doing all the things as any other person do and never felt that I am a sinner. Every thing looked as normal course of life. But the experience of salvation brought a deep conviction toward sin. Salvation is an instantaneous experience. The day you get saved your past sins were totally forgiven. You find that your slate is totally clean and blank. After salvation there was always a feeling that I need a holy life. This instinct will follow you all the time. Whenever you committee sin (even do a very little insignificant thing) you feel very guilty.

When I got saved after that I longed for holiness as never before. Night and day I cried out before God only for one thing “HOLINESS”. I wanted to live a guilt free life and this process continued and is still continuing. I am happy to say that because of my own experience “holiness is possible, you can achieve a guilt free life”. It took long years to reach that goal but it is possible by prayer and by trust on Jesus. Salvation is the beginning process of Holiness.

2. Anointing of the Holy Spirit: Anointing is very much necessary to lead a perfect life. Anointing takes you to that perfection. When anointing comes, spirit of God comes to dwell inside of you and He helps you to lead a holy life.
John 16:8 "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
John 16:13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Here again needs obedience. Here also you have choice whether you want to obey the voice of the Holy Spirit and correct yourself or reject the voice of the Holy Spirit and do your own will.

3. By Holy walk: Many think that once saved means everything is going to be al-right. But it is not enough. As I said through salvation the work of holiness begins. After salvation it is your duty to keep that salvation going. It is necessary to work hard to achieve holiness. It is an ongoing process. This process will go on till your life ends. 2 Cor 7:1, “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God”.

It says “perfecting holiness” means continues walk in holiness. So you cannot say today I am leading a holy life means it is ok for the rest of the life. No but you must renew in holiness each and everyday.

It is only achieved by crucifixion of flesh or fleshly desires each and every day. When carnal nature dies away spiritual nature increases. 2 Cor 3:18, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord”.

This transforming experience comes after salvation and by holy walk with the Lord. Life transforms from glory to glory by dieing for fleshly desires or nailing carnality to cross day by day.

May God help you to lead a victorious and holy life.
