"And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?" Matt 6:28-30 Yes, we have a God who cares for us. Many times we worry about our future and many times we think, "What will happen tomorrow?" We feel much troubled, and we start thinking that nothing good will happen to us, and then the devil whispers, "You have lost the battle, there is no victory.... you are not going to make it...." and so on. But the Bible says in 1 Peter 5:7 "...casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you." Also Jesus said in John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."

Some people did a study on anxiety, and they said, "Most of the people think about the things which are never going to happen." There may be a small problem, but we think and think, and it becomes like a big balloon. Once Martin Luther was praying in his room when suddenly the devil entered his room and started writing on the wall, and he wrote all the sins of Martin Luther. With a big smile the devil turned to Martin Luther and said, "You have done so much sin, you are not going to heaven anymore." When Martin Luther heard this, he first thought, "Yes, the devil is right, " but suddenly he said, "Yes, I have sinned, but the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all our sins." Within a moment the devil disappeared. So don't give room to the devil to work in your minds. Instead stand on the word of God. And He cares for you. With the Psalmist we should say , "My times are in thy hand."(Psam 31:15 )

If you have any prayer request please feel free to send it to us. We will pray for you. In this Issue read a life story of Pastor Paul E. Weimeschkirch. I read his articles in "Words of Encouragement", and encouraged through this many times. And in Praise Him..... column read pamu's testimony.

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

By Rev. Paul E. Weimeschkirch

I was born in Chicago August 8, 1940 to German American parents who were devout Roman Catholics. I was baptized at about 10 days old. I attended Catholic grammer and high school and was an altar boy as well as in the boys choir. During my high school days I became very disillusioned at the way priests were in their private lives. I learned that they had the same failings and shortcomings that I did, but I was to look to them as Christ on earth. The nuns were approached with utmost dignity, even after they beat you half silly with the edge of a book, or rubbed chewing gum in your hair because you chewed gum in school.

I saw the frustration in their lives as I became friends with one priest. I can recall the story of one girl who attended St. Scolastica's Catholic girls school, as she stated how a priest came on to her in the confessional. I remember one priest being very tough, physically abusive to all his students. He produced several split lips and black eyes on several students. At seventeen I became fed up and joined the Navy, where I withdrew from anything religious. I still referred to myself as catholic because, as mom would say, "You are born catholic, raised catholic and you will die catholic." I can remember how we prayed to the saints and Mary and did indulgences for forgiveness of many sins. I recall going to the confessional and telling the priest my darkest secrets and having to say penance, i.e. the rosary repeated several times. I got good at praying the rosary. I could rattle off my rosary in slightly less then four minutes...pretty fast.

While in the Navy I began my education. William & Mary University was my first attempt by correspondence and extension courses. After the service I went into college with great vigor. I so wanted to know everything I could find. I had a hunger for knowledge that was amazing. I worked at the time as a police officer, working night shift by choice and going to school by day. On March 3, 1973 I was sitting in front of my TV set watching the news and Billy Graham appeared. I enjoyed making fun of the TV Evangelists so I never changed the channel. In the 1970's Billy had a singer Ethel Waters, an actress and singer of some reknown. That night as she sung "His Eye is on the Sparrow", I thought, "Wow, if there is a God who can take care of a little sparrow, maybe he does know I'm here." As Billy Graham preached that night I felt tears coming down my cheeks. I heard of a forgiving Savior, not there to zap me with lightning, but who died on that cross for me. Suddenly all my early fears I had as a catholic disappeared and I felt real love for Jesus.

That night I prayed the sinners prayer and asked Jesus to be my savior. Soon I was baptized and felt God calling me into the ministry. Within a year I was enrolled in studies for ministry. Soon I was in ministry and pastor of a church and knew I had found my place in life. Then in 1971 I was a chaplain at the Arizona State Prison. I loved the ministry to those presious men. I can recall how I once felt about "Jail House Conversion", but now I learned that it was in vain. Those men who were real stood out like a sore thumb. The fakes and the real Christians were as different as day and night. The real Christian in prison is looked down upon by inmates, and guards always tested their patience. Some of the most wonderful days in my life were spent in prison ministry.

Then suddenly on my way home from work I felt severe pains in my left arm, as if my arm were in a rock crusher. I blanked out and struck another car head-on at 60 mph, but, God blessed again, we were both spared. The man in the other car laid in his seat seeing the inevidable crash coming and God brought me through except for a few abrasions. In the hospital I was told that my heart attack caused severe damage to the heart and I would never work again. For several months I felt worthless and decided to move to Texas where I could lay back and die with a fishing pole in my hand. After about two years I was struck down once again with a second heart attack that the doctor described as my heart exploding. I spent six months in the hospital and rehab, and felt is was really over now. I had bought a computer, and as pastor of evangelism and outreach in my church, I began Altarcall Ministries. I never asked for financing from our church and have relied on God who is our provider. God has always come through and answers our prayers before we ask very often.

Today we are blessed with wonderful kids, and wonderful church, University Baptist Church in San Antonio. Our pastor is one of the nicest men I have ever met and one who really loves the Lord. The membership are all so dear to us and we just love each on so much. Altarcall Ministries has grown to a good size and today I see more people coming to Christ and growing in His word that any pastor could in a church. Many have been afraid of the internet, but I see it as a mission field white unto harvest. There are many who will never go to a church but who receive our "Words of Encouragement" and are blessed by God's words. God is so good and loves us so much. He can turn a simple Catholic kid into a preacher. He can take a sinful man and wash away the stain. He can deliver someone from sinful desire and urges. He can create beautiful grandchildren that tug this old preachers heart string and make me remember, "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me." May God bless you!!

Praise Him.....

Thank you so much for sending me "In Search of Peace". It is ministering to my heart and I have found comfort in the two issues that I have read so far.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 8th Dec.. 2015

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 16th Nov. 2015
