Last week we saw yet another tragedy in Kennedy family. News papers and media reported as "The Kennedy curse" They said, "Most of the people died in young age in Kennedy family. Let us look what the Bible says about curse and blessings. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 28:1-2 "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:" And in Deuteronomy 28:15 "But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you." If you read further verses, oh, there are so many curses written, and the Bible says that it will come upon you if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which the Lord command. Jabez was a man who was in pain whom his mother called Jabez which means "pain". But when he prayed to God and asked to change his pain to blessings God granted his request and the Bible says in 1 Chronicles 4:9, "Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain." The Bible says in Galatians 3:13, "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree")." Yes, my friend, Jesus became a curse for us to redeem us from our curses and make us a blessed person. Are you thinking, "I am a cursed person... I have no blessing in my life...whatever I touch it becomes a curse." Dear friend, you need not to think these things anymore because Jesus has already paid the price. Just surrender your life to Jesus, pour your heart before Him and tell Him all your curses, pain and sorrows. He will change every thing and make your life a blessed life as He did in the life of Jabez. We read in the book of 1 Chronicles 4:10, "And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested." Yes, my friend, Jesus can do the same thing for you. He can turn your curse into blessings. Just look to Him, no matter what may be your situation. God who heals

Exodus 15:26, "For I am the LORD who heals you." Yes this is the everlasting words of the Almighty God. I am the Lord who heals you. I am the Lord God who brings healing in the lives of the people. Malachi 3:6 says, "For I am the LORD, I do not change; ....... Yes my friends God's grace never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Many times people say "Oh in these days healing never takes place." Oh in these days miracles can not happen". My question is, did God change? Did His promises change? Certainly not; because we do not believe that's why we do not see healing and miracles in our lives. But cheer up, today also our God is a God of miracle and healing. Yes He is a great healer.Let us see how He heals people:Today we are going to see 3 things. 1. Spiritual healing: Bible says in Jeremiah 30:12-15, "For thus says the LORD: 'Your affliction is incurable, Your wound is severe." "There is no one to plead your cause, That you may be bound up; You have no healing medicines." "All your lovers have forgotten you; They do not seek you; For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, With the chastisement of a cruel one, For the multitude of your iniquities, Because your sins have increased." "Why do you cry about your affliction? Your sorrow is incurable. Because of the multitude of your iniquities, Because your sins have increased, I have done these things to you." Here the Bible says that your affliction is incurable, your wound is severe. again in the above verses Lord says "I have wounded you with the wound of enemy, I have chastised you." Why? because of sin, because of multitude of sins, because of iniquities." Yes my friend, Lord is not pleased with iniquity, Lord is not pleased with sin. When God saw that man whom He created sinned, when God saw that the creation which he made is going to be ruined in hell fire because of sin, it pained Him. When he saw His own creation in such a pathetic condition He decided something great. He decided to sacrifice His own son to recapture the fallen man. He decided to wound His own son to bring healing in the life of mankind. What a great God, what a great decision He made to save you and me. Yes my friends Lord Jesus died on Calvary's cross to save you and me. He shed His precious and spotless blood to save you. Have you ever thought of that greatness of God? Have you ever thought how much He loved us and that was why He gave away everything, even His own life for you? There is a song which says the same thing.In loving kindness Jesus came, My soul in mercy to reclaimAnd from the depths of sin and shame, Through grace He lifted me.From sinking sand He lifted me......... Yes my friend He came to save you. He came to redeem you from hell fire. He came to give you eternal life. He came to save you from sickness of your soul that is SIN......SIN......INIQUITY......INIQUITY..... Yes sir!!! HELL is real. If you will not repent from your sins, you are going there. If you will not receive the great redemption for which Christ died, you are reaching there, because Bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Not only that, you can not see God who is holy. No sinner can ever see God who is most holy. Isaiah 35:8, "A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it,......verse 9," but the redeemed shall walk there:" BUT.....BUT....BUT.....cheer up, through repentance you can get that eternal salvation. Cry out to God and ask the forgiveness of sin and you will receive the healing for your soul, and eternal life in heaven.2. Physical healing: Acts 9:33-34, "And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy." "And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed." And he arose immediately." Yes Lord Jesus is a great healer. He came not only to heal our soul and give eternal life, but also to heal the sicknesses of the people. He wants us to be happy and healthy. He cares not only for our soul but also for our bod. Yes my friend, Jesus heals even today. Many times people say healing days are gone. Now a days healing does not take place, but let me tell you Lord Jesus is the same. If He healed the people 2000 years ago, then He does it today also. I want to share one of my experiences. It may look funny but it is real. One day as I was taking my dinner a fish bone stuck up in my throat inside somewhere which was not visible from out side. It looked as if it pierced my tongue. I was very much upset, because there was constant pain in my throat. I was not knowing what to do because I was not having medical insurance and no doctor was there to help me. I realized that I was in a very helpless condition. But one thing I knew was that only God can help me in this situation. I prayed to the Lord and said, "Lord now you are only my hope. You are a great physician than anybody else." And I started praising God that I am healed. It was the 3rd morning when I woke up that I felt terrible pain and it looked as if my throat is totally choked. I thought whether pus is forming? I was more upset and finally decided to visit my dental doctor may be he can help. So when I went it was 24th December and his clinic was closed so there was no chance to get any medicine for 2-3 more days. And I knew that only God was the ultimate answer for my problem. Once again with tears I prayed that night and praised God by faith. Every time when it was paining I said, thank you Lord you have healed me. And the next day that was 25th December (Christmas day) on which day the miracle happened. On that evening it came out during dinner time. It was there for 4 days and its a real miracle that God had done. Psalms 51:17, says "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." God never despises the prayers which we offer whether it is a small problem or big. That is God's greatness. Yes my friend healing comes through God. Are you sick? Do you say, "doctors have left me, now I have no hope." But there is a hope for you. Look towards Lord Jesus, cry out to Him and He will never and never despise you. He will come and heal your broken and sick body.3. Mental healing: Psalms 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds." Are you worried, and heart broken today? Do you think that your problems are like a mountain? Do you think that there is nobody to console you and comfort you? Look towards Lord Jesus He is there to give you peace. I experience two things which give peace and drives away depression. Word of God: I had a hobby to cut some good Bible verses from Calendar, and paste it on wall. When I was in India I used to paste these cuttings everywhere in my room in stare ways and so on... And every time these were in front of my eyes whether I was sitting in my room or going through stare ways. It always reminded me about God's love. And many times it brought peace in my life when I was upset. Once I was very upset because I was waiting for my brother to return. And time was running fast and I was thinking what happened to him, why he was getting so late to return. And many thoughts ran through my mind. I was anxiously looking from window, coming back inside and again looking through window and so on and on... Suddenly I saw a verse on my wall which said "Safety is of the Lord". That's it, and a great peace flooded in my soul and after that I felt very much relaxed. God's word has power it brings peace in weary and tired soul.Praising: Praising brings peace of God. David praised God all the time that's why we see the book of Psalms with full of praising. Many times when I felt that I did not have any mood to do any work and whenever I felt depressed I used to go and sit at the feet of the Lord. I remember the things which Lord had done, remember the great sacrifice He made on the Cross and start praising thinking those things. Whenever I do it tears rolls my eyes and it brings such a joy which washes away all depression and worry. In Hindi there is a beautiful song which says "whenever your heart is upset remember Him(Jesus), Through His remembrance make your heart merry.'Dil jab udas ho to use yad keejiyeUski yad se apne dil ko aabad keejiye." That is the secret, Praising is the key to get peace. Think about the things which God had done in your life and praise Him. Count those blessings and praise God and you will see the result. Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 9th Dec. 2008
As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 11th Nov. 2008
