Many a time I get letters saying, " There is no God". Two weeks back I got a mail saying, "God is dead." I asked, "Did you attend the funeral?" He/she said "NO". Many people say, "There is no heaven and hell." And so on…. Well, some years back nobody was knowing that moon is not a small ball as we see from earth, but now scientists are trying to make colonies there and trying to settle people in moon within a period of 20-30 years. Think about it, if there is a God, and if there is a heaven, and if there is a hell, where do you think you are going after death? Don’t wait for the moment till you reach hell fire but discover the greatest love and forgiveness of God in your life on earth. Come to Jesus, He is calling lovingly. The punishment which was supposed to come upon us, Jesus took it himself and paid the price. You need not to go through that punishment anymore.

Our Arguments

"And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, "The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight. So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, "If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! Why has the LORD brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt? So they said to one another, Let us select a leader and return to Egypt."(Numbers 13:32 to 14:4)

Here we see a tragic situation of the Israelites. They knew that God brought them to give them the land of Cannon, they knew that God was with them and performed mighty miracles in their lives, but when they heard the report of the people who went to spy, they lifted up their voices and cried. Why? Because they heard the negative things and started believing in those things. They believed in their own ability. They totally forgot that God who was with them could have given them victory. Many a times we do the same thing. We listen negative things and we start losing our faith on God. Many times people say, you can not do this, you can not do that. My dear brothers and sisters, stop listening to those people. Stop believing in your own ability but start believing in God’s miracle working power. After finishing my B.Sc. with second class I thought it would be better for me to do M.A. rather than M.Sc. But God asked me to take admission in M.Sc…. It was tough time to take a decision. For days together I argued with God and said, "I can not study this much, if I go in this I will never pass." However I applied for M.S., but my name did not come in first two lists. Then I took the admission in M.A. I was very happy that I could not get admission in M.Sc. and I was very happy with my M.A. Classes but one day when I went to college I saw my name in the list of M.Sc.(Botany). I felt very sorry… I came home and prayed again and I got the same leading from God. Finally I took admission in M.Sc. I felt very difficult to study in this subject. I prayed to God again, " Lord you told me to take admission now please help me." And God helped me to study well and I got first class and second position in college.

God wants to give good and better things, but many a time we lose it because we believe in our own ability rather than God’s. We think negative things and that thought becomes a reality and we start believing in those negative thoughts. Israelites lost the opportunity to go to the land that was flowing milk and honey and full of God’s blessings. But if you want to get God’s blessings in your life, look to God and whatever He says do it without doubting whether you will be able to do that. He is able to do great things in your life.

After doing my M.Sc. I did not know what to do next and God said, "Learn computer." I said, "O, Lord, I am a Bio. Student, how can I learn computer?" And God said, "If you do not want to learn computer, you have to do ayah’s(Nurse maid’s) work after going to USA." I did not realize the significance of it till I came to USA. When I came here, I saw those people, heaving big degrees(Drs. And Engineers) but were doing very small jobs. But I am thankful to God who lifts those who fear Him and blesses them. Let us look to God humbling our selves before God so that we could get His blessing.

Resurrection and contradiction

Many times I heard people saying that the description of Resurrection in four gospels i.e. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. contradicts with each other. So let us review the passages and find out what is the truth.

Let me remind you one or two things before we proceed. All that is written in the gospels is an eye witness account and we know it very clearly that in an eye witness account it is not necessary that all the details are present and it is also not necessary that they are being said in chronological order.

What actually happened on the day of resurrection.

1. Mary Magdalene and other women came to the tomb. We do not know hoe many women came but we know that they were more than one. Matthew 28:1, Mark 16:1,2, Luke 24:1, John 20:1 these verses say the same thing. when we read Luke 23:55-24:1 that gives an idea that not only women from Galilee but other women also went to the tomb, that means there were many eye witnesses. Many people try to argue that gospels contradict on numbers of women, no it is not, because when you go to a site seeing place you say that you went to so and so place, you never give the list of every person who were with you in that place.

2. The stone on the tomb was found rolled away. All the four gospels agree on this. Matthew 28:2, Mark 16:3 Luke 24:2, John 20:1

3. Mary ran to the disciples and gave the news that Jesus's body was not there. It looks that till that time Mary had not seen angel and she did not know what happened, she only saw the open and empty tomb. She seemed to be greatly troubled and thinking that some one might have stolen the body. John 20:2

4. Peter and other disciple goes to the tomb sees that tomb was empty but still they did not know what has happened. John 20:3-9 Mary follows them to the tomb, seems to be Second visit of Mary and we do not know if there were more visits.

5. after her second visit, after disciples went away to their homes she sees angel (John 20:10-11) this corresponds to Matthew 28:5, Mark 16:6, Luke 24:4. Most of the time people gets confused thinking that Mary visited the tomb only once.

6. all the four gospels agree that angels were there. Now when the question comes on who saw the angels when, where whether all the four gospels are consistent on it, despite the fact that angels cannot be subjected to scientific scrutiny, because where physical ends science looses it's power. In other words science is limited to physical.

7. Now Mary runs again to tell the disciples and this time when she is going she knew that Jesus was risen, because she not only heard it from angel but also she saw Jesus face to face. She was the first person to see Jesus after resurrection. Matthew 28:8, Mark 16:9, Luke 24:9, John 20:18

8. Now the two disciples going to Emmaus knew everything about what happened and were discussing about it and they saw Jesus. Mark 16:12, Luke 24:13 -45

9. They came back and again Jesus came in the midst of disciples and Thomas was not there. Matthew 28:16-18, John 20:19-24, Mark 16:14 , Luke 24:36

10. Then again after eight days Jesus appeared to the Eleven disciples (this time Thomas was there) John 20:26

11. Jesus appeared to His disciples time and again till 40 days from resurrection. Acts 1:3

12. Jesus appeared to more than 500 people at once 1 Corienthians 15:6

In the whole history of mankind no one predicted about his/her life that he is going to die and rise again on the third day and fulfilled it too other than Jesus. Yes, He died on the cross and rose again so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Yes, my friend, it is so simple that if you believe in Jesus and ask him to forgive you of your sins and ask him to cleanse you with the blood He shed for you on the cross, He will forgive you and cleanse you and make you whiter than snow. Would you like to turn to Him for the remission of your sins?

Pray this prayer with me

Lord Jesus I know I am a sinner. I believe that you died for my sins on the cross and rose again on the third day. Please cleanse me from my sins and wash me with your blood. I surrender my life in your hands. Please make me a new creation. In Jesus name I ask. Amen

Anointing of the Holy Spirit

Acts 10:38, "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."

Every time I read this verse I wonder, why Jesus (Son of God), needed the anointing of the Holy Spirit? Several times I heard people saying "anointing of the Holy Spirit" it is only for one particular group. It only happened at the time of Jesus, when 120 people were filled with Holy Spirit in the upper room. It does not happen now a days. It was only at the time of Old Testament period, but now it can not happen. But what the Bible says about anointing?

(Joel 2:28, Acts 2:17), "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" Look it is very clear that "in last days I will pour out my Spirit". And we are in the last days. This is the time when things are moving very rapidly, Bible prophecies of last days are being fulfilled, so we have to get ready to receive the promise of God. And the promise is this, "in last days I will pour out my Spirit". It means you and I need the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Paul the most powerful apostle of his time had this experience, disciples of Jesus had this experience, Daniel and Joseph who interpreted the dream of kings had this experience. Even if Lord Jesus Himself required this anointing, why not we.

We say proudly that "I belong to this Church or that Church." We are bound in denominations and Churches. We are ready to follow the rituals and traditions of the Church, but fail to see what is in the Holy Bible. When the Bible says clearly that in the last days God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, believe it as it is, and ask God earnestly and receive the greatest promise of God.

When ever I read Matthew chapter 25, it brings great fear. It says about ten virgins, who waited for the bridegroom(Jesus). Mat 25:1-3, "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom." "And five of them were wise, and five were foolish." "They that were foolish took their lamps, but took no oil with them:

We are also waiting for coming of the Lord Jesus. If rapture takes place today are you ready? Where will be your place in eternity? Are you ready to meet your God and king ? Think about it are you saved ? If yes do you have oil in your lamp. Oil represent the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Mat 25:4-9, "But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps." "While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept." "And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him." "Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps." "And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out." "But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves."

Here we read that the wise virgins had oil in their lamp, but foolish had no oil. They were asking for oil to the wise virgins but they did not get it. If you want to go heaven you have to labor for it, you have to pray and get forgiveness of sins, you have to ask God, nobody can help you, nor your parents, nor your Pastor.

Mat 25:10-12, "And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut." "Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us" "But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not."

And it is written here very clearly that only the 5 virgins who had oil in their lamp could go with the bridegroom, but the rest were left out. Do you know what the Lord said to them who were left out "I know you not". How sad it is.

This is the appointed time to seek God when He could be found. Seek Him earnestly, ask Lord to forgive your sins. Come to the saving knowledge of Christ as soon as possible and get filled with the Holy Spirit.

How to get filled with the Holy Spirit:

Bible says, "ask and it shall be given to you." Mat 7:7-8, "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" "For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Luke 11:13, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

This is the key to get anything from God. If you ask you will get it, in another words if you do not ask you will not get. If you want a place in heaven ask God, "God save me, wash me with your precious blood and make me Holy." If you want anointing of the Holy Spirit in the same way you have to ask. Ask God, "fill me with your Holy Spirit. As you have filled 120 people on upper room." John 14:13, "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." John 14:14, "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."

How I know that I received Holy spirit:
Acts 2:4, "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." This is the visible sign when a person receives the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

When Holy Spirit comes what will you receive:

1. Comfort:
John 14:26, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,........ This verse says that Holy Spirit is a Comforter. When we receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit brings comfort and joy in our lives. John 14:18, "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."


2. He will Teach the truth:
John 14:26, "........he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

3. You will feel the presence of God always:
Holy Spirit will abide in you and you will feel the presence of God always. He will speak to you in times of distress, in times of need, in times of tears. John 14:16, " And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;"

4. You will get right counsel at the right time:
He will always tell you what to do at times of trouble, at times of confused situations. He is a good counselor. John 14:26,"....... He shall teach you all things."

King David always prayed before going for war, whether to go for war or not, and he always got reply, once God said "go", but next time said "no". When Holy Spirit (the Spirit of God) lives within us He tells the things, which is right.

How great is this experience. Do you want to miss it. No never. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and live a victorious life for Christ. Amen.

Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer on 9th Dec. 2008

As the Bible says in Ezekiel 22:30 "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it." And also the Bible says in Numbers 16:48, "And he (Aaron) stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped." We have fasting prayer every second Tuesday of each month. Our next fasting prayer meeting will be conducted on 11th Nov. 2008

Printed Version of the Magazine
